What are your favorite books that you have read in 2013?

Looking over the list of books I've read so far this year, most are average with a few awesome ones mixed in. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancy was a high light.

The 5th Wave (The 5th Wave, #1) by Rick Yancey

At first glance I was a little iffy on this book. The description for it was about aliens taking over the world. I don't know about you but I've seen too many stupid movies about alien destruction.

Once I started reading it however, I could not put it down. It turned into one of those books that I could not stop thinking about. I would be distracted by the thought of it at work and while hanging out with friends. I even had dreams about it.

What made it so engaging for me was the strong female character, Cassie. She's tough and relatable with no super human strength. She's funny and witty when all I would want to do in her situation is cry. It did in fact make me cry and laugh and sometimes do both at the same time.

The 5th Wave is the newest book on my favorite list and I can only wish and pray for a sequel!

Now tell me what books you've obsessed about this year!

Ayah (dystopiancitzn) Although the following book were not published in 2013, it is my favorite since I just finished it. Born At Midnight( Shadow Falls #1) The book's plot will hook you up. Now I did like the main character Kylie at the first and the grammar was kind of annoying, but the romance and mystery is just so thrilling!
