Tammy Bland | 1 comments This is a story about a Storm Chaser and a PBR Cowboy. Here is my review:

AWESOME story !!! This is a stand alone book, although the author says the son in the story will be getting his own book.

Roni is running from the tragedy that is her past. One way to do that.....be a storm chaser. Roni lives out of hotels and her car. She has severed all ties to her past never allowing anyone to get close to her. This is the only way she knows to avoid heartache.

Upon the trail of a storm she has a blowout in rural Kansas. Stumbling upon her is a fifteen year old kid, CJ, to help her change her tire. Although she tries not to let him help he is persistent and she finally relents. When she looks closer she discovers he has one blue eye and green eye. This intrigues her immensely. One characteristic that he inherited from his father.

After chasing her storm she ends up in the same rural town in Kansas where she met CJ. She knows this is bad but the kid made her feel things that she has tried to block out for the last three years. While eating supper CJ comes in with his father, Coleman Cade, professional bull rider. Roni tries to hide her face but CJ recognizes her immediately. He wonders over to talk to her. When Roni gets a good look at Coleman she literally melts under his scrutiny.

Instant attraction and something else Roni thought was long gone in her...lust was drumming through her veins. She had to leave. She couldn't let this family any closer than they already were. Coleman is not a man that gives up so easily on something that he wants.

Will Roni finally open up about her past and let someone get to know the person behind the facade she portrays ? Will Coleman have the tenacity and patience needed to get her to give love another try ?

August 3, 1863 Kit Carson, frustrated by his inability to actually find any Navajos in his war to round up the Navajo, ordered Major Joseph Cummings, also Santa Fe’s U.S. Marshal, to implement a scorched earth policy. All Navajo homes, crops, and their beloved peach orchards were to be burned, the smoke to be visible across the entire New Mexico and Arizona Territories.

Steven Kohlhagen (stevenkohlhagen) | 14 comments August 18, 1863---150 years ago today: U.S. Marshal—and U.S. Army Major—Joseph Cummings is found shot dead in an arroyo during Kit Carson’s roundup of the Navajos. There were $700,000 to $1,000,000 of today’s dollars in his saddlebags. Carson reports, unconvincingly, that his “brave and lamented” Major was shot by a concealed Indian, one of roughly 9,000 Navajo that Carson’s Army couldn’t seem to find. What did happen to Cummings? And where is Cummings’ associate, General Canby’s aide de camp, and the millions of dollars he embezzled from the Army, the Territory, and the Church? You have to dig deep into the activities of a group of con artists in the midst of the Civil War, the Apache Wars, and the Navajo Wars in the New Mexico and Arizona Territories to discover the answers. But they’re there. Deep in the desert and exactly 150 years in the past. www.stevenwkohlhagen.com

I read Cassie's Cowboy Crave (Sweet Montana Bride, #1) by Kimberly Krey and loved it. Is that the same book you are talking about?
