I'll try that again...Currently reading Gary McMahon's Pretty Little Dead Things - a dark update of the psychic detective sub-sub-genre. Always an interesting writer.
The Girl Next Door was a tough read. I just finished Meikle's The Hole and loved it. I'm in the midst of James Everinton's new collection and I think I will be starting Kealan Patrick Burke's Thirty Miles South of Dry Country. That will finish up my Stoker challenge over at HA. :)
That should say County. I just found out its a sequel to Currency of Souls, so I might read that instead.
I just finished reading White is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi. It kind of reminded me of Shirley Jackson in a way.
@Bryan In that psychological horror kind of way. At points it has you guessing if what your reading is actually happening. Only reminded me at certain points though.

To kick things off, I'll share that I just finished (survived?) Ketchum's THE GIRL NEXT DOOR. Now moving on to Victor Pelevin's THE HELMET OF HORROR -- a present-day retelling of the myth of the minotaur and labyrinth...with a cyberspace sort of spin on it. I'm only about sixty pages in, but so far it strikes me as innovative in style (the entire novel looks like a chat room transcript). Looking forward to seeing how it turns out!
