There was so much good about this one. I really liked seeing Kate and Curran settled in their relationship. It even seemed like they were listening to each other and comprising, the give and take often had me laughing. So you can imagine how upset I was when later in the book things weren't so good for them. I hated Curran for his actions, kept hoping, like others, that he had a plan, but worried that even if he did it might now be enough. Kate's inner thoughts about what was happening did have me laughing because only Kate would have those bloody thoughts.I hated how so many people made Kate feel inferior for not being a shapeshifter and rubbed it in her face. For the most part Kate has enough confidence to not let this shake her, but with things happening with Curran it hit hard. I did love how Kate did get encouragement from a very unlikely source, the way the compliment came in had me smiling because it was done in a backhanded way.
I hated how the pack as a whole paid some big prices for the help that they gave. There were times that I wanted to shout out at what was happening, that it couldn't be happening. Even with the big price that paid, the reward that was discovered will have far reaching positive points for the pack.
I really liked how Kate's empathy for people and wanting to save everyone had some great results. I hope that we get to know more about the Shepard, I have a feeling that that person could help Kate learn more about her past and family.
And speaking of family, well there was some discoveries there. Kate learned some about her father figures and more about who she has been hiding from. While Kate did come out ahead in this battle the war is far from over.
I can't wait for the next book, to find out what the repercussions will be and how the new pack member will fit in.
I'm reading this now and enjoying it...Kate and Curran are my favorite!! I agree with Darcy, I don't like that people make Kate feel inferior...
I'm not very far into book, but I'm looking forward to the rest
:)
I liked the fact that the authors explored what would happen if Kate and Curran needed to deceive the other in an attmept to save the others life. They needed to settle this with the threat of Roland hanging over their head. It may bother some that Kate was verbally attacked due to Curran' s behavior. In a true pack, she would have been shunned and then physically atacked. I think the authors showed how Kate being human and mated to one of the strongest alphas would be treated. She would be egged on, pushed and insulted, in an attempt to cause her to strike out, trying to use her as the weakest link.
The growing fascination of Hugh D'Ambry with Kate is dynamite. I appreciate the way that the authors use Kate's evaluations of his character defects as a mirror to examine her own. I believe this can keep her more human and less the serial killer, psychopath she was programed to be.
This book gave me the emotional rollercoaster ride that is the hallmark of a truly well written book. While the story was well rounded and felt like it had a definite ending, it whetted my appitite for the next installment in the series.
I'm closing my eyes to the comments and will try to read this book in the next week :) Lots of library books to get through
Ok, my post is going to be full of spoilers so don't read if you are not finished.**SPOILERS**
I loved the book! It was an emotional roller coaster. I was so mad at Curran about how he treated Kate. I know he was trying to protect her but treating her that way in front of some of the pack was so bad. I felt so awful for her the way the other shifters were treating her. I did love though how some of the pack seemed to take her side like Barabas and I loved how Mahon is coming around to Kate being with Curran.
Oh the dynamic between Kate and Hugh is great and only going to get better. Man I loved the fight between them.
I loved how Kate's good heart ended up being what got them what they needed.
I was so heartbroken over Aunt B, I actually cried :(
Anyone else think Desandra is going to be trouble?
I read the book so fast I am going to re-read it and might have more to post.
I wont be getting mine till Monday :( Im closing my eyes to make sure I dont look at your post Susan lol

Oh yes, Desandra (view spoiler) is going to be so much fun!
I really, REALLY liked this one. Liked it better than Magic Slays, although I think that Magic Strikes will always be my fav of this series (it's pretty much my fav UF and one of my fav books of all time). So many thoughts on this. Pretty much all spoilery so... (view spoiler)
so... any opinions if I can jump into this without having read Andrea's side story? I love me some Kate & Curran, but I just wasn't interested in Andrea by herself.

Sorry if someone asked this, I was afraid to accidentally read a spoiler, so I skimmed the posts :). Do I need to start at the beginning of this series? I should right?
