Hey there, Felicity! Great to see your post! I understand about school and all that lovely assigned reading :). I'm wanting to jump into an August read & discussion with the group as well! I am actually still finishing up our July read (way way behind! lol!)...a cute children's/YA book (One Crazy Summer) I decided to read aloud with my boys. We are all liking it. Juggling many many books but I can't help it and most of all...I love it! :) I'm gonna check the list. Did you have any suggestions? I'm open for anything.
How about we read a fun fiction book for August, the last month of the summer? I finished One Crazy Summer and it was a delightful book.

Wow! All these are all great selections (of course! Lol!). 32 Candles sounds like a really fun one for summer. I've heard & read great reviews on it. I was going to start it soon anyway...but...I'm flexible and open to any of the ones listed.
Any one of those is cool with me. I'll probably have to purchase whatever we read since none of those titles are available at my library, so if you all come across a good ebook deal on any of them let me know!
Okay...I can put my hands on that one right away. I started Assata Shakur's autobiography last week...very interesting.

I look forward to discussing 32 Candles with you all. Now to find it...

I have a copy of 32 Candles from my local library and I am starting today. I hope everyone can obtain a copy easily and quickly. Has anyone already begun reading? Anyone else about to begin soon?
Alright, I should be picking up a copy of the book on Monday! I would've been able to get it today, but some jerk checked it out back in June and hasn't returned it...
YAY! I just received 32 Candles in the mail! I'm excited for this one. Looking forward to the discussions!
I greatly enjoyed this book! Davie was a wonderfully complex character. Looking forward to hearing what others thought.
Just to share: I'm currently about half way in Assata and I'm just in awe of her. As I read her words of how she was treated (in the media and in person) it just breaks my heart. And I realize that the more we think times have changed, the more they are really the same. Please, please, please read this book if you have the chance.

I know I've been MIA (school was kicking my butt), but I definitely wanna get back to reading and discussing with you all! Does anyone have any suggestions for something to read this month? I'm up for anything... Just eager to read something that was not assigned to me... lol.
