Take a second to introduce yourself to other new members.

Tell us a bit about yourself, where you're located, and the title of your favourite vampire book or movie.

I'll start.

I'm Riley Banks. I'm the author of Vampire Origins - Project Ichorous.

At the moment, I am living in Hobart, Australia, but I have lived in four different countries including Australia, Papua New Guinea, Dubai and Saudi Arabia. I like to travel A LOT!

I have three children - two adult daughters and a teenage son.

My favourite vampire book is Dracula, and my favourite vampire movie is actually a tv series - a little show called The Vampire Diaries. You may have heard of it. :)

I have two grown adult daughters
Two dogs a Chiweenie (Leo) and a Chihuahua (Lady) they keep me laughing. My nest is not so empty with them in it.

I read just about anything vampire these days. I don't believe I have just One favorite Vampire book right now. I am always reading new series and books, but, Love the Carpathians..

I am also into Vampire Diaries. I am looking forward to the Spinoff, The Originals coming this fall. ~A

Thanks Angela - I'm also pumped for The Originals, though kind of bummed by their title. Theirs came after Vampire Origins yet I'm sure there will be people who think otherwise. :)

Know what you mean about dogs making you laugh. I have two cocker spaniels who I love to death, and a cat who forced his way onto the pages of my novel.

Angela Sizemore | 2 comments Maybe they will think they are related and more people will ready your book.. ha I have not read it yet, but, I am on the waiting list at the library .. :)

Anton (antontroia) | 4 comments My name is Anton, and I'm a 36 year old fan of vampire tales and all things cryptids.. I'm also an author of a Vampire and Zombie novel titled--The Last Overseer My favorite vampire novel is "I Am Legend" by Richard Matheson. My favorite vampire film is Bram Stoker's Dracula. Followed by the old Universal films.

As for TV serials, I only watch True Blood.

Anton (antontroia) | 4 comments Your book is on my bookshelf Riley, It really captured my attention. I am considering whether or not to read it ahead of another book, but nevertheless, I'll get to it I am sure.

Thanks Anton. I have watched the movie of I Am Legend but that book is still on my shelf to read. Love Bram Stoker's Dracula too. And Interview with the Vampire.

In fact, Kirsten Dunst's character in IWTV was the inspiration for Angeline in Vampire Origins. I just took the concept of a child vampire one step further to create one of the most evil children in literature!

AGirlAmongstBooks (Jess Green) (agirlamongstbooks) Hi everyone! I'm Jessica. I live on the East Coast, in the United States (New Jersey).

I have two children ages 7 & 2. Been married for 7 years.

Anyway my favorite vampire novel(s) are the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series (J.R. Ward) & my new favorite is Vampire Origins ( I had the chance to read it recently and I'm absolutely hooked!)

I really liked Angeline.....and I did kind of see Kristen Dunst in IWAV in my head....lol

message 12: by Anton (new)

Anton (antontroia) | 4 comments The movie I Am Legend was a bad adaptation of the novel. For a proper adaptation, I suggest-- "The Omega Man" starring Charlton Heston. AND "The Last Man on Earth" starring Vincent Price. Despite the different titles, both films were adaptations of Matheson's classic.

Samantha Martin (witchyfaerie) Hey Everyone,

My name is Samantha, known to most as Sam. I am a mother of three, two boys and one girl. The oldest is six. I live in Westfield, North Carolina. I am surrounded by a State Park that is absolutely gorgeous. I am a book reviewer and blogger by night, and a Library Assistant by day. I am a lover of all things Vampire. I too, cannot narrow down a favorite Vampire book. I devour everyone that I get my hands on.

I love The Vampire Diaries as well. I have all the seasons on Blu-Ray and I am eagerly awaiting the release of the fourth season in September. I also love True Blood, I have all of those on Blu-Ray too!

I like a lot of the short lived series as well like Moonlight and Blood Ties.

Happy to be here!

Cheers!
Sam

Hello Riley, Phantom Bigfoot has arrived with both big feet. Thanks for the invite and now you got me I bet you're wondering what the heck to do with me. To all who don't know me, I am author of the notorious cryptid novel - Nobody Loves a Bigfoot Like a Bigfoot Babe and the equally nefarious vampire romance Luna Sanguis. I am stuck in my homey cave in South Wales UK and my all time fave vampbook is Salem's Lot due to its period detail - 1970s, smalltown Ameicana and smalltown values. That's me in a nutshell - oh nutz - that reminds me gotta get more nutz. See ya!

It won the Pulitzer Prize.

My husband said this is a brilliant book. I haven't read it yet but really want to. Funny but the only Stephen King books I've read are his non-horror. It's my mission to read all his horror ones too.

message 24: by Kathy (new)

Kathy M (emkatherine) I am E.M.Katherine, the author of DemonINK Lover (Ink Lover, #1) by E.M. Katherine from the INK Lover series (next books will be AngelINK Lover and VampirINK Lover) and I am a huge vampire lover.
My favourite vampire book series (because one book isn't enough) is Chicagoland Vampires by Chloe Neill
My fav movie is Queen of the Damned and TV series is TVD, of course.

You're welcome. I couldn't find any other groups on Goodreads just for vampire lovers - but I could be wrong. Has anyone else found one?

I Love Vampire Novels is a good one. They also have an e-mail listing where 3 days a week you get recommended books, a sale one, free one, and book of the day. They also have a Facebook site as well.

message 30: by Aimee (new)

Aimee I live in the Midwest of the United States. I have a 16 year old daughter who shares my love of vampire/paranormal books and a 9 year old son, who can't get enough fantasy/adventure books. I consider it one of my greatest accomplishments that I have raised both my children to love reading. I fell in love with vampire books when I read Interview with a Vampire back in the 1990's. My favorite vampire books are the Blackdagger Brotherhood books by J.R. Ward and the Anita Blake books by Laurell K. Hamilton. I also love the Night Huntress books by Jeaniene Frost, the Broken Heart books by Michele Bardsley, and the President's Vampire series by Christopher Farnsworth. I love True Blood (not so much the books) and the new Dracula series and am looking forward to watching Vampire Academy with my daughter.

Mia | 1 comments Hi!
My name is Mi, 27 years old and live in Sweden. I work as a medical secretary at the biggest hospital in Scandinavia.
I had a leonberger called Ziko for 12 years and she was my best friend.

I love vampires, especially 1700-1800-ish. You know, men with long hair and fancy clothes.
I would be ever so thankful for book recommendations with such vampires.
