Cindy sat in the corner of the room reading one of the short stories her mother had written wile she was pregnant with Cindy. Olli always signed her works and always dated them so Cindy knew when she wrote it. Olli would still send Cindy some letters asking her how she was; even though Cindy could barley write, she still always replied.
Cindy watched her supervisor and wondered why Olli hadn't sent anything the past couple weeks; she always sent her something on a Sunday, always.

Cindy's supervisor walked up to her, "hey Cindy, what's wrong?" he asked softly, leaning down to her level.
"Has Olli sent me anything...?" she asked, slightly worried.
He shook his head, "sorry kido."
An woman walked up to Cindy and her supervisor, "hi," she smiled, "I've been assigned to Cindy as her secondary supervisor," she told them.
Cindy's supervisor looked at the woman, "why? I work fine with Cindy by myself..."
"I know Hank, but she's Olli's first born, the agency has demanded that she be watched closely," the woman told him.
Hank raised an eyebrow, "why?"
The woman took a deep breath, "Olli got out. We can't have Cindy fallowing in her footsteps. I've also been told to take what ever Olli gave her when she was born."
Cindy gasped and hugged her box.
Hank knew he could argue with her. He bent down and picked up a colouring book he bought Cindy for Christmas and winked at her.
Cindy smiled and his the box behind her.
Hank stood back up and sighed, "here," he said as he held out the box.
The woman nodded, "I'll be around," she told them as she walked off.

Cindy nodded, "I will!" she hugged him, "thank you Hank!"
Hank smiled and rubbed her back, "anything for you kido."
Cindy pulled away and put the box in her Disney Princesses back pack, "there, now it's safe!" she smiled so big her eyes closed.
Hank chuckled, "good girl," he said as he ruffled her hair.

Although Hank had just given away her favorite colouring book, she still had a lot more. She grabbed a Winny the Pooh colouring book and some crayons.

Ocean sat down and began to colour a colouring book.
Cindy noticed other girls colouring and wondered if they had and green; she had used all hers and she needed some. But sadly she was to shy to ask.

Ocean looked up sharply and smiled sweetly. She stumbled over to where the girl was and handed her the pencil, "If you wanted it you could of just asked!" She smiled friendly, Ocean was a very outgoing for such a person her age.
She sat down next to the girl, "Do you want me to help you colour?" she asked excitedly.
Cindy smiled, "thanks!" She took the green happily then nodded, "sure! You like colouring too?" She asked, her three-year-old voice as cute as ever.
Cindy handed the girl a red crayon and pointed to where she wanted to, "red goes here," she said in a tone that made her sound even younger. She always knew what colour something was going to be as soon as she started; and she would stick to her colour plan until it was done. She held the green for a moment, then coloured the spot she thought it belonged.

Valora looked around nervously, her sister was playing with the girl and she was all alone. She came here to drop off Ocean and say her finale goodbye. For all she knew this could be the last time she ever saw her sister again, she would have to bear this loneliness for the rest of her life until she left the institute, but that felt like ages away. She was afraid for the the next step in this journey but she was Valora, she reminded herself, she wasn't afraid of anything and took the first step of the frightening but challenging journey. She hugged Ocean goodbye, holding back tears, in this world you can't be weak because it's survival of the fittest. Ocean had little knowledge of why Valora was going away but was more understanding than a child her age, that you can't stay attached, that's the one thing Valora taught her. She waved goodbye and exited by backing up slowly towards the door where her supervisor was waiting. "Goodbye." And with that she left with her ink black hair trailing behind and that was the last Ocean saw of her.
There was no "I love you" or "I will miss you" because there was that silent look they gave each other, an agreement, an understanding. That the world was a cruel place, it doesn't take pity on the weak but only awards the strong. The future is a foggy and uncertain place, they didn't know whether they would see each other again but when or if that time came, it would be joyous.
"Cindy," she smiled, "what's your name?" She asked back. She was curious to who that girl who just left was, but she thought it was best not to ask.

"It's allllrighht...." slurring her words and she shrugged as though dismissing the thought, "so is Cindy short for Cinderella?" she asked looking up cutely as though she was shy but that didn't seem possible for such a confident child like herself.
Cindy giggled, "I'm not sure really, my mom named me it.. So it could be." She wondered if her name really was short for something else, but had no way of ever knowing.

Cindy nodded, "I'm her oldest.. So she gave them to me," she explained, everyone knew that the oldest always got something from their birth mother.

Cindy nodded, she remembered reading a letter that explained how a breeder can have a baby every other week, "ya, your right," she smiled.
She glanced around the room to see if anyone else looked like her, but what if they didn't resemble Olli?

After about twenty minutes Hank walked up to Cindy and the other girl, "hey, it's time for breakfast," he told them softly.
Cindy jumped to her feet, "Yay!"

Hank picked up Cindy's bag, "are you coming too?" He asked Ocean.

Dawn sat a table in the back away from everyone else, coloring silently
Bryn walked in looking around the kids for Dawn.
Bryn walked in looking around the kids for Dawn.
Bryn smiled when she noticed Dawn in the corner. "Come on," She said leading her over to Dawn.
Dawn looked up and jumped into Bryn's arm, "Mommy!"
Bryn smiled brushing back her daughter's brown hair, "Hey baby."
Dawn looked up at Tiffany and smiled kindly, "Hi."

"Dawn this is mommy's friend, Tiffany." Bryn told her daughter.
"Hi Tiffany." She pointed back to her table, "You wanna color too?"
"Hi Tiffany." She pointed back to her table, "You wanna color too?"
Bryn and Dawn sat down at the table. Dawn handed Tiffany and her mom a coloring page.
Bryn noticed how far they were from everyone else. "Why are you back here alone baby?"
Dawn kept her head down, "They tease me mommy."
"Tease you?" Bryn asked confused.
Dawn nodded sadly, "I don't read good. Teacher said I'm dyslexic."

Hank led Cindy into the playroom.
She led him to her corner of the room and sat on the floor, pulling out her box of letters.
Hank sat next to her and pulled the letter Olli wrote out of his pocket and handed it to Cindy.

Bryn pulled Dawn, "It doesn't matter what they saw baby. Your going to leave soon, and get away from them."
Dawn looked up Bryn, "Leave?"
Bryn nodded pulling away to touch Dawn's face, "Your being adopted baby."
Dawn looked behind the girls confused, "Adopted?"

Cindy read over the letter, asking Hank for help with some words. She looked up at Hank, "what's a wedding?"
Hank smiled softly at the three year old, "it's something that two people do when they love each other a lot. It means your going to have a daddy."
The word love lingered in Cindy's mind, she looked over the letter and saw no trace of the word. She looked back up at Hank, "does Olli love me?" She asked, tears filling her bright eyes.

Bryn gave Dawn a soft smile, "Yes, a nice man is going to take you away from here."
Dawn smiled excitedly of not being bullied anymore, "Mommy coming to?"
Bryn's smile wavered, "No sweetie mommy stays here."
"But?" Dawn said frowning.
"I'll still see you, Dawn." She said brushing her hair lovingly, "He'll bring you back for visits."
Dawn frowned, "But I want to be with you mommy."

Hank nodded, "of course she does Cindy.. Why would you even ask that..?" His chest ached, as if he was feeling the heart break for Olli.
Cindy looked down, "she never writes it..."
Hank pulled her into his arm, not caring if he got into trouble, "Cindy.. She loves you a lot. That's why she still writes, and that's why she wants you at the wedding," he whispered softly.
Cindy nodded and looked up at him, "but what if she doesn't like me? What if she expected something more? Something better?"

Bryn had tears in her tears and pulled Dawn in for a hug, "One day baby."
"But.."
Bryn smiled at Dawn wiping her eyes, "We will Dawn. I don't know when, but we will."
"But.."
Bryn smiled at Dawn wiping her eyes, "We will Dawn. I don't know when, but we will."
Hank looked over Cindy's face; she looked do much like Olli it was almost breath taking, "she wouldn't want anything else, Cindy. Your perfect." He hugged the little girl again and felt his heart ach. Was it because of how sick Olli was, or because he was jealous of Tyler? He pulled away and smiled, "how about we practice your writing? Maybe you could write Olli something? Or stay her a pretty picture?"
Cindy nodded with excitement and crawled over to her papers.
Cindy nodded with excitement and crawled over to her papers.
"Is he nice?" Dawn asked looking down. She liked the idea of leaving but she want to be with her mommy.
Bryn nodded, "He's nice and take good care of you."
Dawn nodded and colored a rainbow on her page.
Bryn nodded, "He's nice and take good care of you."
Dawn nodded and colored a rainbow on her page.
Bryn watched Dawn color. She hoped she was okay with it and would be happy with Mack. She glanced at the clock and was sure she didn't have much time life.
"Dawn here." She said getting her daughter's attention. She took off her bracelet and put it on Dawn's wrist. It was a simple silver bracelet with a heart on it. It had been a gift to Bryn from her mother, and now it was Dawn's.
Dawn stared wide eyed at the bracelet, "Your bracelet?"
Bryn gave Dawn a soft smile, "Your bracelet." Dawn realized how serious this was and hopped on Bryn's lap to hug her tightly.
