Probably the strongest of the franchise, but still a jumble that doesn't know how to juggle a big cast.Loved Alan Cummings as Nightcrawler.
Was disappointed that we didn’t see his version of Nightcrawler again.I found this film too Wolverine- focused
The whole first trilogy is basically Wolverine and his amazing friends, and it really hurt it.They never got a handle on juggling an ensemble cast.
In the second trilogy ( Yeah, I know there are four, just go with it) losing Logan helped, but then it just became all about Charlies and Erik.
I agree about that i. the first trilogyThe second quadrilogy started well with first class and days of future past. I thought the Xavier- Magneto dynamic deserves the exhilaration it received. But they could certainly have broadened perspectives from there.
There was too much Xavier in Dark Phoenix
(I really like Age of Apocalypse- more of the team I guess)
I liked when they played with the ensemble, but the Charles/Erik bit started interesting then was just constant retread.Everyone lectures Charles on how flawed he is, and no matter how many times Erik attempts genocide, we should give him one more chance because Charles ( they guy nobody has much faith in) says he sees the good in him.
Round and round.
