This is for discussion of the animated series

Ronyell (rabbitearsblog) | 105 comments I actually seen this show and I really enjoyed it! However, some of the things that irked me about this show was that it focused too much on Wolverine and not enough on the other X-Men characters. I was hoping that the second season would have further developed the other characters.

It's so obvious the creators wanted to do a solo Wolverine cartoon and were told 'No, you have to do the X-men', as nobody but Logan seems capable of doing anything.
The story is convoluted and there seem to be big chunks that the writers can't be bothered to explain. It feels like this is a sequel to some other show that I never saw.

Do like some of the character designs. Nice mix of the movie and comic versions, but there are some choices that baffle me.
Why is Cyclops wearing a long coat? Is it supposed to help us remember he is angsty?
Why is Forge, one of the few native american characters drawn and written like some kind of neurotic hipster?
What is up with Rogue's hair? You can see her eyes through the floppy bit that falls in front of her face!

I want to like this series, but there are so many bits that just don't work. It's entertaining, but I can see why it didn't get a season 2.

I agree that this show is entertaining at some parts, but they could have done a better job at developing the other X-Men characters. That seems to be a huge issue whenever the X-Men are put into movies or into some TV shows and I'm hoping that one day we will get another X-Men TV series that actually focused on all the X-Men characters, like X-Men Evolution and X-Men the Animated Series did.

I think if this show had been less "Wolverine and his amazing friends', I would have forgiven it some of the rough spots.
Same problem I have with the movies and the comics. Making the 'ultimate loner' the guy in charge and constantly in the spotlight just doesn't work.

I agree. The reason why I liked the X-Men so much was because there are so many different characters to focus on and the movies fail to do just that.
