Completely contradicting the air of North Blue, this technical string of three islands, all surrounding one another and forming what is essentially the shape of a target, connected through long bridges, is a pirate's haven, and also the island closest to the Grand Line. Marines have struggles to gain any sort of foothold on the island, with only a minor base located on the far eastern shore, whereas almost the entire remainder of the island runs rampant with pirates, thieves, vagabonds, and other shady figures. The center island, called Fwoosh, is actually the tip of a volcano that is constantly threatening to erupt by releasing an unceasing stream of noxious fumes into the air.
~ Little Base ~
The only real Marine base on the island, Little Base is just there - a little base of operations. Holding only a few hundred men, the base's commanding officer, Commodore Ref Pantaloone, is in constant works trying to think of a way to take the island closest to the Grand Line for the Marines. The base, located on the far eastern shore of Riposte, is surrounded by a shoddy wooden fence, but has more to fear from the local bears than the pirates, who humbly ignore the base's existence due to its laughable size and pathetic manpower.
~ Alamuerte ~
Not so much a city as a country in and of itself, Alamuerte is the name of the entire middle ring of Riposte, as it is the main stay of the pirate population. The cities and towns therein are not so much named as simply known, and blend together at hazy fault lines to encircle the entirety of Fwoosh, which is located within its circular grasp. Alamuerte is rowdy, dangerous, and one of the few places in North Blue that Marines tend to avoid at all costs - except for the daring, minor force of Ref Pantaloone.
-------- Docking Area --------
The island has three docks in all, including one at Little Base, and then two along the southwestern shore, fairly close together. The docks all put travelers on the outer ring of the island, which is heavily populated by bears and snow leopards, but it takes little time to find a bridge to move into Alamuerte.
