Splashstar Island takes it's name from it's shape, a falling comet. The island has 5 "tails" stretching to the northwest in a curving fashion, creating 5 bay-like regions where ships can harbor. The main portion of the island holds the island's most striking and obvious feature. A giant mountain, half of which has been flattened to create the island's largest city, Glimmering Heights. The Splashstar Peak is visible from any point of the island.
A forest covers the mountain, thinning out to plains on the western side of the island and down most of the tails. The southeastern portion of the island ends in a swampy mess of beach, ocean, and forest. A fairly large island, from the furthest point of the outermost tail to Glimmering Heights is nearly a 14 day journey on foot. The southernmost tail, being the shortest of the 5, is a considerably shorter trip at 6 days on foot.
~ Glimmering Heights ~
Glimmering Heights, sitting on top of Splashstar peak, is the largest city on the island. All members of the ruling council have homes in the city, in addition to homes in the areas they represent. A long straight road down the eastern side of the mountain goes straight to the sea, a two day journey. There is a great marketplace at the end of the road, in the heart of the city.
~ Eldar's Regret ~
Eldar's Regret is the port city on the other end of the long road from Glimmering Heights. A thriving city in it's own right, however, it has attracted a criminal element that Glimmering Heights is missing.
~ Farleaf Winds ~
Farleaf Winds, one of the leading silkworm estates on the island, sits near the edge of the forest on the southern side of the mountain. It isn't too far from Longdrink.
~ Longdrink ~
Longdrink is a medium-sized trading city on the southern coast. A small marine outpost is located here.
~ Cliff's Sanctuary ~
Cliff's sanctuary is a small town located near the tip of the third tail. It is known for being the most pirate-friendly town on the island.
