Not kool, no way, starts messes and should be banned from being able to bring to school.

There should be security checks, like at airports, for schools

really? Security checks? For SCHOOL???? Do you want us to have privacy or do you want us to let other people run our life?!

while I admit weapons are not good at school that doesn't mean that you have to have a security check on the whole school because one person halfway across the country did something!!

If we let security checks come into our schools then we might as well let the government control every moment of our life! I don't know about the rest of the people in this group but I for one am a FREE, INDEPENDENT, GOD LOVING, GUN SUPPORTING, OPINIONATED AMERICAN who won't let people run my life and check me for what I bring to school simply because they are afraid of what MIGHT happen.

I don't know about you all but I for one give people the benefit of the doubt where I come from. I was raised with the knowledge that this was a FREE country where we could express our freedom of speech, press, and religion and show our support for anything we chose. While you can believe what you want to I WILL NOT show support for SECURITY CHECKS at a place as innocent as a high school. If we let this happen then the next thing we know we could be in Agenda 21! Or to put that into terms teenagers understand...our own, very REAL, version of the HUNGER GAMES. And this time there would be no 'Mocking Jay' to come save the day and start a rebellion.

The only way we can keep being free and having our own opinion in this country is if we stop stupid things that the government is trying to force upon us, from gun control to security checks at a school.

If you all really think that is necessary then go ahead and let yourself get captured and your personality stripped away but I WON'T let that happen to me. I will stand up for what this country was made for!

I don't think they should be banned, cause that only encourages people to try to sneak them in, But I think people shouldn't bring them to school.

I agree. they need to be banned. I don't know about your school, but at mine, you can't let anyone in. only people that can are the staff, and it has to be through certain doors at certain times.

I graduated and students at my school couldn't bring weopens in because they were banned and they did anyways, Not guns or anything but the did bring knives.

when I said security check, I meant like a metal detector for guns, knives, and anything else dangerous.

Am I the only one that sees ANYTHING as a weapon? Books and Pencils are weapons as well and yet you don't see people banning then? What about lockers? Someone could put someone's head in the way and slam to door of the locker repeatedly on it. Yet all of these are allowed in school. All weapons are automatically banned from any school. where I come from no one brings a gun to school or anything like that but people do bring pocket knives mainly because they are useful and they can also protect people. Have any of you actually thought about the fact that GUNS and KNIVES are also used for good? They CAN help people? No probably not. Not many people do. Most people only see how they hurt and not how they help. Where I live, guns are not only part of our way of life but we depend on them to survive because we need them to hunt for food and to make sure that our FAMILY isn't hurt. I once heard a story (don't know who or where it took place it was a story told to me) but someone brought a gun to school and threatened a class. But a teacher also had a gun hidden in his room and he was able to save his students because of it. Not all weapons are bad, it comes down to the people who use them. Don't blame the weapon, blame the person.

No one brings guns to school. I am just saying that they are not bad. It is the people and then everyone goes and blames the guns. I am tired of people blaming/banning guns simply because they think that the gun is responsible. Yes I agree, no guns in school, but don't blame a weapon for what a person does. A gun cannot fire itself. Some places ban guns for good reason like schools and such. They want people safe. But if we ban guns from everywhere then only criminals would have guns and then this country would be in even more danger cause we would have no way to defend our self. Don't blame the weapon if it can't fire itself. Don't have security checks in schools because someone halfway across the country brought a gun to school.
