Linda Awesome book. I just finished reading it...could not put it down. Good character development, likable characters, and a believable story line. Can't go wrong...just be prepared to be totally absorbed!!!

Mina Loved it! Except kinda sorta weird in some parts, but overall great!

Bridget It's really good!!!!!!!!!!!

Andrea I really enjoyed this book -- a great story. It made me think about what it's like to have artistic talent of some kind, and the ups and downs and self-doubt that goes along with that.

Sorrel It's quite good, yeah, I wasn't so keen on the main character in some places but it was a really interesting story line and it felt like it had some depth. It was really believable- you should read it. But there are some bits I just really didn't like- Lucy's obsession with older men for one.

Julie I thought it was good, though I had some qualms. It made me want to practice and seek out some of the pieces mentioned in the story.

Kyra Definitely wasn't my favorite book, but to be fair I'm not a big fan of realistic fiction. I'm glad I read it though, it was a good book. While reading it, I didn't always like Lucy, but that is primarily a good thing. I can't quite figure out if the parts that I didn't like were me just disliking Lucy and her... teenageryness, or if they were forced and a little awkwardly written.

i know what you mean, where the teenager is sort of into the older guy sort of gave me the creeps...

YES!@Kyra: I felt the same way about her teenagery angst. it was sort of annoying to read it, but overall it was nice.

Salt Lake City Public Library Check out The City Library's review of "The Lucy Variations" written Brooke Young, our Teen Services Manager, on Salt Lake Magazine's blog:

She agrees with your reviews above, and thought it was quite good!

Stasha I bought it, and I will put it in my classroom, but there are better Zarr books than this one.
