Which books have made you cry?

Clockwork Princess made me cry so much. Opal (Lux #3) had me bawling my eyes out over that ending.

A Taylor-Made life by Kary Rader had me wasting a 50 sheet tissue box

Opal made me cry too, along with Prophecy of the sisters when lias baby brother was killed, that was awfull plus his own sister did it too.

I've cried several times while reading a book, but never as much as I did when I read Clockwork Princess. I'm a person that gets affected by things very easily and I cry very often, watching tv shows or films etc, but I was shocked by how much I cried because of Clockwork Princess. I've cried several times after I read the book, listening to certain songs or seeing pictures at tumblr. This book has affected me so much, even more than the Deathly Hallows did.

I cried while reading Looking for Alaska, Before I Fall, The Darkest Minds, The Hunger Games, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

I don't usually cry at books, but I did (nearly) cry during Love, Aubrey (just the whole concept of it was just so depressing!), and the endings of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, The Darkest Minds and The Book Thief.

Okay...actually take that first sentence out because apparently I am less of a cynic than I thought...

I agree! It was devastating! I can hardly even think about that book without beginning to tear up!

I have cried in many books. The ones that have left me completely torn apart would be: The Fault in Our stars, The Darkest Minds, Clockwork Princess, Opal, The Evolution of Mara dyer.

The Fault in Our Stars. I think my eyes are tearing up just writing this T_T (thats my crying face...) and Tiger Lily ;(

Okay, here are some YA books I've read in the last few years that have made me cry: If I Stay; Where She Went; A Long, Long Sleep; The Fault in Our Stars; Taken by Storm (Raised by Wolves); Revolution (by Jennifer Donnelly); A Need So Beautiful; A Certain Slant of Light; Hate List; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows; Gregor and the Code of Claw; The Darkest Minds; The Eternity Cure; and The Iron Knight.

The Fault in Our Stars, Clockwork Prince and Princess, The Book Thief, and probably many more. Those are the ones that had me crying like intensely. I tend to cry during books a lot though. I get teary eyed pretty easily.

I'm pretty pathetic. I tear up whenever someone mentions Clockwork Princess.

I cried just because HP was over. Oh and when a few of the characters died...

No book has ever made me really cry. Sure I've been sad over some but no actual tears have spilled. I don't get it when people say that a book made them cry. I mean it's a book

Have you read Clockwork Princess? I usually don't cry unless:

1). Something really awful happens and the writing is so sorrowful it just pushes you over the edge (Book Thief, Opal, The Darkest Minds, Shadowkiss, Delirium)

2). The ending is so epic. The writing is beautiful, the ending is sad and happy; it's bittersweet. There is so much emotion and feeling in the writing: (Clockwork Princess)

Ikr that was sad. But I don't think i saw enough of them too make me too sad. What really would make me cry is if demigod 1 or demigod 2 (i dont want to spoil it since idk if u finished MoA yet) get stuck in Tartarus while trying to close to doors of death.

I've never read any of Cassandra Clare's books. I heard they're HP rip offs so I tend to avoid them. But gosh I keep hearing so much praise maybe I'll try to read them.

Ok distinctions would be better. Tears welled up in Delirium.

I cried a little for Book Thief, Opal, Darkest Minds, and Shadowkiss.

The damn broke and I exhausted my tear ducts during Clockwork Princess. I dare you not to cry during that book. ;(

Read them!! Harry Potter rip offs?! Every book has aspects from other books. Nothing is wholly original. Authors write things based on their surroundings, things that they see and read. You could argue that every book is a rip off of another book. City of Bones is really good!!

I might read them if I find them in the library but I'm still thinking. I never read a book til I'm sure it won't be a waste of time.

It won't be!! Meiyu and I have both read City of Bones and HP. It's good!

@Katie. Basicly because some ppl (NOT ME!!!) think she took the same idea aand twisted it , for example Voldemort=Valentine, Mundane=muggles, just little stuff like that, but come on can u ppl really say she's not a good writer or story teller? NO they can't. This one guy said she was selfsentered because she named clary after herself, Clary/Clare. Others say she wrote simmilar stories like this one for fanfiction and just compiled them together, if u want to understand more just go to KatKenedys review of The City Of Bones, she totally trashes it, and in the coments somewhere someone talks about all of it. She kinda made me mad because she tlked sooooo bad about it, but hey its her opinion not mine. I STILL LOVE YOU CASSANDRA!!!!!! Ur PURE AWESOMNESS no mustard!!!

I'm going to read them, (hopefully) but I'm not sure what my expectations are for it. One of the first things I noticed was that the girl was named Clary. :P
But a lot of people on my friends list have read them, so I might as well try.

Yes. I worship Cassie Clare's books!! I would definitely read it again and again. I know another Mormon who has read the series, so I think it's safe for you, Audrey.

Yeah, my mormon cousin read it, so that's why I decided to put it on my to-reads.

Definitely "Clockwork Prince" and "Clockwork Princess" I cried from 2am till 6am at the end of "Clockwork Princess!"
Also in "Matched" I cried about her grandfather!
Such a big baby! O_o

This book made me cry so many times, I was a mess. But it was such a great book!
I like Cassandra Clare's books but I've never cried over them 0.0 Just worshiped them hehe

I would say Clockwork Princess as well as Sometimes it Lasts. That one is a big one especially because it's so heart-breaking how Eva and Cage go through so much all because of f***ing Ace.

Hahaha, no really! I mean maybe I just don't read deep books or something but I've just never cried.
And if your referring to the fact that I laugh when people die, I mostly laugh at evil people who die, so that makes it alllll better :D. Well....not completely true. I had to read Romeo and Juliet for school, and just about died laughing when they both died. Now that was some funny stuff.

That was really funny when they died cuz it was SO dramatic. He's DEAD! STAB. She's dead! STAB. WE're DEAD!!!!
