Thoughts on Marcie?

Krissie I could be in the minority here, but I actually felt bad for her. Clearly the author decided she didn't want to develop Marcie and wanted to write her only as an obstacle to challenge Nora, but not as a deep, feeling person. The character development potential was there, but we got virtually nothing. It isn't that I liked Marcie, but her story could have ended better. I wish she was written to redeem herself in some way. Maybe the message was that karma is a you-know-what or that some bad people just stay bad.

Your thoughts?

Amanpreet Kay u r not alone. Well my first thought Was.....uughh. But in the end, I mean in Silence when it is told that she was raised not as a daughter but just to create a diversion...then I felt really bad for her...& furthermore her dad...Hank.. uses mind tricking on her to get his job done, I felt a genuine feeling of sympathy for her.

Sarah Mohsn I don't like her that much but I did feel bad for her how she was just being used.

Anna i hated everything about her until in the last book she wasnt as bad then bam! i turned to hating her again when she set fire to all the feathers

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood I never really liked her although I felt really bad for her at the end of the 3rd book. And didn't really care for her though out this book and then BAM she's burning the feathers and it's all like 'damn lady if i was in their with you right now i'd be beating you're butt so much right about now! how DARE you do that to Patch!'

Jessica My thoughts on marice are simple. Her dad was a freck and she never got it. If she tried to lead the back hand army then she would ahve died faster.
she was not only used by her dad but by her mother as well. in the end she died.

Kenna Anna said, "I hated everything about her until in the last book she wasn't as bad then bam! i turned to hating her again when she set fire to all the feathers"

I totally agree with her. I hated Marcie, until the last book, when she wasn't so bad, but then I hated her again when she burned all the feathers.

Jacquelyn I think Becca did try to give Marcie depth. The depth was that she was a bitch with kindish tendencies. She was a victim of her parents because her father made her the terrible person she was and unfortunately she couldn't get past it. But in all honesty, could we blame her for wanting revenge on the ones that killed her father? WE may have hated Hank's guts, but she probably loved him just as much as any other normal girl is supposed to love her normal father. Unfortunately, though we see the story from two sides, three if we look at hers as well. And unfortunately we see the side that kills Patch...

Henneline She's a real B_t_h. I totally expected her to pull a stunt like that! She reminds me of all the popular girls I went to school with.

Saleen Hate her!

April I haven't read Finale yet, however I feel that Marcie did grow and change a little as a character throughout the first three books in the series. However I couldn't stand her character. I mean by the end of the second book and about halfway through the third book I felt bad for Marcie, I had some sympathy for her. But at the same time I just didn't really like her as a character because she was a stuck up b**** but I still felt sorry for her when I found out that Hank was only using her and I personally HATED Hank ( and the writing HAS to be good for me to feel something towards a character and I felt a whole mix of emotions for different characters, which is how I know Becca is an amazing writer). I HATED Hank, and I don't think I've ever despised a character so much before when reading, I mean had a dislike for them sure. I felt bad for Marcie because of how her dad acted, and that's probably why Marcie acted the way that she did. But I still liked her character, but I feel her story could've been developed a little more. I guess I'll find out when I read the last book in the series, after re-reading the series.

harriette du plessis sparrow Without marcie in some parts of the book it wouldn't have interesting!! so we should be glad that she was there at all. even if she was a b****!!!!
:)

p.s. personally i hate her to the moon and back!!!!!
have no sympathy for her at all!!! how dare she tell nora patch was her 'summer fling'!!!!!

Vi I think we all hate her

Saige I'm glad she died.

Lve2read i Kind of had mixed feelings with marcie...i didn't stop to care at all when i read that she died, i was too overwhelmed with the beautiful ending :) but later i thought of how it's kind of sad that hank took advantage/used marcie coz he knew she was going to die young, i guess she thought she wanted to make her father proud and stuff, but then when i think about how she burned patches feather and suddenly i'm all angry and Hate marcie...so yeah...like i said mixed feelings :D lol but in the end it didn't matter to me that she died.

Maliha Marcie. I don't hate her but I'm disappointed in Patch for hooking up with her. I mean, he can't 'feel' so what's the point in being her 'fling'? To be her bodyguard and keep an eye on her? And it doesn't even make sense that he was assigned to bodyguard 2 different people!!

Mimi-loves-her-books! I'm not "happy" that she died. Do not misunderstand me,I did not like Marcie, at all. BUT, anyone dying makes me sad.

Maliha yeah it was totally irrelevant to mention what happened to her, I wouldn't have cared at all either way cause it's not like she was ever going to be Nora's sister...
