Have you ever read Piers Anthony's The Incarnations of Immortality?

the first book is about death - On A Pale Horse

It was a really interesting series.

I was thinking back to my childhood, and I remember really liking this children's version of Mayan mythology starring a pair of twins with blue skin who go to the underworld? Does anyone have any recommendations involving more Mayan/Aztec mythology?

I enjoyed Vijaya Schartz Seducing Sigefroi.
It's more on the romance side--okay, way over on the romance side--but it covers the myth of Melusine. I'd recommend it if you're a romance fan. :)

This series has the zodiac signs as the main hero. The first one is about Leo, and Scorpio is a pretty interesting character here

Larissa Ione's Lords of Deliverance series features the Four Horseman - book #3 focuses on Thanatos (Death)
This series is PNR and is a spin-off of an earlier series called Demonica (no horsemen in this one only supernatural creatures).
