Your Reading Habits Through The Years

Growing up I was kind of all over the map and would read whatever sounded good to me. I remember I read a lot of fantasy, I read a good amount of realistic fiction/humorous fiction (many kids' books published in the 80s and 90s seemed to be humorous from what I remember), and I liked series. The first series that really got me reading was The Boxcar Children. I also really loved Sharon Creech when I was in 4th/5th grade. Now I tend to read mostly YA, as a teen services librarian, but I also like romance series set in small towns, and I will read the occasional Christian fiction book. I'm also pretty interested in books set in Hawaii, and have been ever since my honeymoon about a year ago.
I first started with classics and fantasy and love both. Slowly (with the help of Goodreads, I might add), I found YA, Historical romance, Contemporaries, Children's Lit, Humour and Paranormal.I recently started reading Nonfiction too. The only genres I haven't yet tried are Mystery and Plays. I'm hoping that one day I'd have read books of all types! It's a lifelong progress.
I remember reading some of the Sweet Valley and Boxcar books when I was younger. I really don't remember a lot of what I read on my own time during my junior high years. And during high school I began developing my current taste in books. I currently enjoy reading memoirs (especially those about individuals battling weight issues or any psychological issue/disorder), chick lit (quick reads that take my mind off real life :]), classics, and every once in awhile I'll pick up a self-help type book (I love The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin - motivates me to make some positive changes every time I read it). My reading has slowed almost to a stop the past 2 years unfortunately. I've just been so busy with work and school that I haven't found the time :(

I'm curious about how your reading habits have changed throughout the years! Have you ventured out into new territories or do you stick to what you know you like?
