Obviously it's not having sex by texting. Because you can't have intercourse with a text message. But it is wrong.
It's exploiting yourself for the satisfaction of others. Not only that, but it can end up on the internet, you can be charged with sending child pornography, and it can ruin your chances at scholarships for college and future jobs. Does that not sound wrong?

Just saying...would that change her view on it? If you're saying you'd be to old for it, there are the couples married in their teens or twenties (not saying that's good.)I thought you were the liberal Davis...
It all depends on who you are sexting to, and if they know you in real life or know who you are.
And, I don't think it's exploiting yourself for others, because both parties are agreeing to it.

"I thought you were the liberal Davis..."I meant that sexting would be an issue because if a couple is married, they would probably just have regular sexual intercourse. Correct?
I am liberal.
It is what it is. The government doesn't need interfere in the private lives of it's citizens like that, in my opinion. And before someone says that is conservative of me, I would just like to bring up points of conservatives infringing on the right of the individual: Abortion and Gay Marriage.
My opinion on it is, it's your life. If you want to send pictures of yourself to others, fine, but don't come crying when you get kidnapped. You were asking for it.
Does it count? This isn't some juvenile tally chart, is it? Besides, if it did count, you are in the end paying for it. So its basically prostitution.
If two kids meet online, IM each other stupid things, and never do anything else with each other, then, does it hurt anyone?
Sexting isn't only describing sex while texting; it can be texting nude/suggestive pictures to others.
Sexting is generally nude-suggestive pictures, which can get you sent to jail for distribution of child pornography, even if you're the teenager who sent it, even if you're just 15, and even if you didn't mean to receive it.As far as both parties being willing, I've found that most cases the guy had to ask the girl several times and she was reluctant. But she felt like she had to prove something, like she wasn't going to be good enough or able to get his attention with doing what he asked. So she sent him the shot and now it's child porn. It could be sent to all of his friends, around the school, to adults, and onto the internet. When one party doesn't agree to the other sending it then it's exploitation, for sure.
It was her stupidity that got her involved. If you get a picture, you delete. You don't let a guy convince you to do that. It's all your responsibility.
Yes, I agree. But you and I should both know that teenagers are getting stupider and stupider/less mature and realizing and that a lot beg for attention. Say, if a girl's father isn't in the picture usually she craves male attention because it's deprived of her. Or being abused could make you want the comfort of another male to be reassured. Not all people are logical and smart, especially teenagers, ESPECIALLY considering the ages that they're sexting now.As far as guys... We already recognize that they mature less quickly compared to girls, so of course they're not going to delete the picture (in most cases). Which is why it's such a problem.
Then, it's there problem. It's not anyone's job to pick up their mess.
I mean, I know about this, my school has a huge scandal a couple of years ago with this. But, frankly, the girl is a slut because of it, and I don't care.

And you don't have to care. I'm just saying that it IS wrong compared to what you were saying, because it exploits the teenagers involved (whether or not they actually were willing), it can ruin their chances at college scholarships or job applications, it can send them to jail.It is completely wrong.
I don't agree it's wrong in the sense I think you think it is, but I think it's extremely stupid.
Wow. Uh, people can text nude pictures of themselves to their bf/gf however much they want, its not RIGHT or WRONG, its just something people do. And jayda, does that mean that you want to like ban sexting? or just stay away from it?
Chandani wrote: "Wow. Uh, people can text nude pictures of themselves to their bf/gf however much they want, its not RIGHT or WRONG, its just something people do. And jayda, does that mean that you want to like ban..."Why isn't that wrong? It's basically giving them free porn (while exploiting yourself in the process, even if you were willing), gives you a much smaller chance at great colleges and jobs if it ends up on the internet, it can go to your friends, their friends, around the school, around the country, to your parents even. When you send a text message like that you don't know who might see it. Would you want some 50 year old perve looking at that picture and trying to locate you? I'd rather not. But that's what it could come down to. They could end up humiliated by it going around the schools.
Besides that Chan, it's already illegal. It's child porn (considering the ages that it's mostly being done at) and distributing it, with or without their/your consent makes it illegal. You can be arrested and charged with that, even if you're a minor. I think that it should be kept that way.
