Hello fellow Lovers of Paranormal! I have been an avid reader since I first grew bored with devouring Dr. Seuss at the age of 5 and picked up my aunt's nursing journals, trying to figure out if that paper-cut was really a case of leprosy. My teachers didn't know what to do with me, so they just sent me into the corner to read. My love of the paranormal genre developed early. My first book was published in the Fourth Grade, The Spook Cellar, edited by my wonderful teacher Sandra Dobbins who sadly died a few years later from breast cancer. It was a short print run, exactly three copies, one for my teacher, one for my parents, and one to keep in the classroom along with the other 19 books that were similarly 'published' that year. This love of the paranormal continued through middle school, where I spent many hours leaping through the woods with a bent twig pretending I was Gandalf smiting the Balrog, all the way through to the present day.

I am a mother of four wonderful children and two stepchildren, three old enough to have flown the nest. My eldest daughter, my grandmother, and I spent many happy hours 'bonding' over episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Most parental challenges were solved not by Behavior Modification or grounding, but by asking the deep philosophical question:

"What would Buffy do…?"

Now that my next younger daughter has begun to cart home backpacks full of paranormal titles, I find myself getting back into the genre for the simple reason I need something to discuss with her. Twilight made me cringe, but I've enjoyed Vampire Academy and both the YA and A titles by Kelley Armstrong, who I've had the privilege of meeting.

I am happily married to a wonderful man who tolerates my love of made-up worlds with the same weary patience one might give a beloved crazy aunt. You see, my marriage, while a happy one, has one irredeemable flaw. I am a Star Wars fan. My husband is a Star Trek fan. Those amongst you who also partake of the Science Fiction genre will understand. Star Trek fans snoot down their noses at the Force as 'magic.'

Well … yeah? Why do you think I like it?

Heidi Angell (heidiangell) | 64 comments Hello Anna!

I love working with this group and have done several R2R with you guys. I have a dilemma as I am wrapping up my latest book and would like to ask the readers which book they would like to see next.

Having been a part of this group for a very long time, and definitely NOT wanting to get banned, I would love your suggestion on where would be the best place to submit a request for their opinions.

Would that be possible?
