Ann Maertins (chatterann) This folder is where you can discuss any verses or chapters of the Bible. You don't have to ask for permission to make a new topic, as long as it is related. ;)

message 7: by Aaron (new)

Aaron Meyer (loptsson) I have been doing a very slow and diligent read of Zechariah (9-14) along with a historical commentary.
And in my off time working on a read through of Hebrews.

message 8: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 30 comments hm i havent been very diligent in reading the minor prophets. I probably should. Although i love Hebrews!

message 9: by Aaron (new)

Aaron Meyer (loptsson) There is alot that is applicable to events of today. It's definitely worth the effort!!
Hebrews is very intense, there being a great deal of things to really think about.

message 10: by Aaron (new)

Aaron Meyer (loptsson) Was reading Zechariah and came to 12:10 "And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication: then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn."
Doesn't that sound like a conversion in last days of Jews?

message 11: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 30 comments Oh yes it does! The prophets are all amazing for prophecy :D (lol hence the name "the prophets") Have you read the Harbinger by Johnathan cahn?

message 12: by Aaron (new)

Aaron Meyer (loptsson) LOL No I haven't read it but I do have it. I should move it to the top of my To-be-read list. What do you think about it?

message 13: by Aaron (new)

Aaron Meyer (loptsson) Well I have finished Zechariah (at least the latter half of it). There is such an intense amount of end time prophecy here, and many of the images of punishment are very disturbing. When one considers how God uses people and nations to do His work and the level of technology we have reached which can achieve the destructive level which is described in many of the OT texts, it gets pretty obvious that we are most likely living in those last days. How does that make everybody else feel?
Now I am going to begin on Malachi along with my OT library commentary. Should be very enlightening.

Me myself I am calm/worried if that makes sense lol. The events in Revelations are going to be very very ugly and those who have to live through it, well, it would be better not to have been born. There are times I envy those in my family who have gone home to the Lord in the past few years.

Carolyn (caroheartsbooks) | 30 comments do you believe in the Rapture?

good idea! tell me what you think :)

Aaron Meyer (loptsson) ♥Caro♥ wrote: "do you believe in the Rapture?

Yes I believe in the Rapture, but, there are so many views on how the rapture will work. Some views have you live through part of the tribulation and be raptured before the second coming, then you have a partial rapture of proven christians and the rest on earth live through the wrath of god to be martyred, then you have views that the rapture will be at the same time as the second coming.... so I honestly haven't a clue in which "theory" is to be believed and really need to focus on the bible verses which describe it better.

Finished it in nearly one sitting and all I can say is Wow! I think this country is in for serious trouble because I just don't see it turning to God on a large scale to turn back his judgment. I hope, I pray, but "we the people" are stubborn.

ikr!

message 23: by Aaron (new)

Aaron Meyer (loptsson) How true Don. A relationship is a two way street. We talk to God and He speaks to us. And by doing so we become the stronger for it.

message 24: by Aaron (new)

Aaron Meyer (loptsson) Just finished another reading of Habakkuk while reading through a commentary on it. It is rather scary that when I read the second chapter the feeling I get is that it is speaking directly to the United States, right now. So I read it three times through and each time the feeling comes on stronger. Has anybody else looked at this? What do you folks think?

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

I haven't read Habakkuk in a while, but I get the same feeling reading through Hosea....

Have a feeling that today I will be reading Hosea ...
I must admit the minor prophets are a gold mine, they surely shouldn't be called minor, not in the least.
