Happy UK
I'm happy cos it's the start of the Premier League footy season and my beloved Liverpool have won their first game. Stupid I know, but I have a great big grin on my mush which will probably last all week.

I do like Chris Hughton mind you. I was happy to see AV beat Arsenal. :0).. and happy also to see Brighton win their first game of the season.. whew.. happy, happy. :0)
Ian wrote:"I'm happy cos it's the start of the Premier League footy season and my beloved Liverpool have won their first game."A win due to the heart-stopping penalty save by Mignolet!
I have a screenshot of them at the top of the league - may as well savour our brief glory!
It's summer, England have won the Ashes, Murray won Wimbledon, Mo Farah won the World 10k and 5k. Some overpaid foreigners have started running around on a pitch again with over hyped media demanding our attention. BTW I like football - in the winter.Meanwhile we have had the JKR debate on who wrote a book, lots of political crisis in the Middle East but this morning the sun is out once more. I have a Christening to attend and then a cricket match this afternoon. There still might be some summer left. My two current books are selling a bit and readers seem to like them. My third book is nearly ready to go. I had a couple of glasses of a very palatable red last night. Now what can I complain about.....

Didn't know you were an Evertonian Bill. I've instantly gone off you. What caused that affliction?

The only Premiership team with a Canadian on it at the time was Everton, with Tomas Radszinski, so I had to cheer for them.. I like teams that shoot above their weight. Sorry you're off me now.. ;0)

I'm over the moon that Jose has come home to Chelsea! Difficult to keep your eye on whats going on on the pitch when he's about though lol
I have had a lovely day today, my visitor left this morning after 6 days of her being waited on hand and foot, followed by 3 happy hours at Knit and natter at Paignton even though I had to keep pulling out the knitting due to an error in the pattern, followed by a girly lunch at mine with my new friend Stacey.
,
I'm intrigued by this visitor Lynne. You sound very relieved she has now left.
.
My TV's refusing to work so doing more reading. Missing the Test match but as we're getting battered, no bad thing.

I'm happy because I've got my copy of A Game of Battleships. I've been waiting a long time for this book!
I'm happy because I got picked for three Goodreads Giveaways no less! Ok, they were all young adult books but easy reading nonetheless!
I've spent the day in Leeds with a friend and spent time with my lovely daughter who lives there There and Back Again: An Actor's Tale
Helen wrote: "I've spent the day in Leeds with a friend and spent time with my lovely daughter who lives there There and Back Again: An Actor's Tale"My daughter is coming in Sept to visit a holiday camp - one that she works for in Whitstable to see if she can take over as Complex Manager or General Manager. If she does she will be practically round the corner!
Happy this morning, another 5 star review for my second bookOn grumpy note for the mirror Grumpy UK - new book, nearly zero sales since launch on Wednesday.

Brilliant. Miss mine despite her not being far away.
Happy today, been looking for The Secret Of Crickley Hall since I saw the BBC mini-series. Finally found a copy.. :0)
Had a lovely weekend with my little brother - visiting from Leicestershire. Been to the Babbacombe Model Village today. Went on the ferry yesterday to Torquay - £2 return - great value!Did The Golden Hind today in the harbour too.

I'm happy because Newcastle United won yesterday, which made my husband happy....therefore he was in a good mood....which is unusual after a Newcastle match!!!![I just wish I understood more about the game so I could have intelligent discussions about it with him, instead of sloping off upstairs to read my book....

Try living with a Coventry City fan! Win or loose, they started season in minus money, minus points and are pitch-sharing miles away. Nothing but grumbles but shhhh I'm happy cos whilst all this going on my husband is at home on Saturdays.
A glorious day today here at Brixham, after a lovely service this morning at the Salvation Army, I have sat at the harbour sipping coffee after fish and chip lunch and then had a great open air service also with the Salvation Army, with lots of people joining in with us.

I'm happy as my team Liverpool FC have had their best start to the season in 20 years, plus beating Man U yesterday - can't stop grinning!

Brilliant - YNWA!
An educational must for all Chelski fans with their pathetic little plastic chequered flags that the club give out as they can't make any good ones of their own.
Ian, I'm glad you "lol'd" after I'd put my message I thought ooo I hope he doesn't think that was an arsey message lol

You just brought back some very happy memories - Babbacombe model village!
I'll have to go back there and take my son, I know he'd love it (as would I...) We've been to Bekonscot and Bourton on the Water (many, many times!)
Ok, my guilty secret is out, but you have to indulge your inner-child from time to time....

Guilty secrets are fun.....one of mine is listening to Blondie.
. Teenage lust revisited I'm afraid lol.

Is listening to Blondie a guilty secret? I think not. It's not as if you're a closet One Direction fan.... or are you?
Er......no, never actually heard owt by them. The only thing I know about them is what a comedian/singer who was doing a show about the 57 people who claim to be the 5th Beatle at the Edinburgh Fringe, said of them.
To introduce the Beatles to younger people in the audience who possibly had never heard of them.......he sang that they were like One Direction, except that they wrote their own songs, played their own instruments and were talented.....does that sum them up?

Who are One Direction should I have heard (of) them...
just kidding before I get flamed!
Saw the Pretenders at uni in 1978...Brass in Pocket tour......they were supported by UB40 who were pretty unknown at the time but blew the main act off the stage.
Coincidence! I saw the same tour, but enjoyed the Pretenders more. At the time I wasn't into UB40's music. I loved the new wave that sneaked in under the radar of Punk, but I also loved the Prog Rock and Trad Rock groups, just loved music at the time wanted to be a rock singer/writer. now a wider taste in music, but the guitar rarely gets an outing, just been adding some old lyrics/poems to my blog.Happy Days indeed recalling the concerts of the late seventies.
The Pretenders were actually briefly booed on to the stage cos the audience wanted more of UB40. I saw them in Leicester, so maybe a lot of folk over from Cov who were already big fans.....UB40 became one of fave bands long B4 Thatch acquainted me with my own personal one after I left uni.....not so happy memories of the early 80's.
