Ella (AWholeLotofNothing) | 386 comments I find them predictable. The main character (usually female) has to pick between two hot guys, and can't seem to choose. It's pretty obvious who she's going to choose, but the author takes us on a 1-10+ book ride to see what happens. I just feel like it doesn't portray life truthfully. Yes, I understand sometimes that people might have to pick between two people, but really; is their only two people in your life you can date? Do you really need someone right now? And then, they pick someone and they live happily ever after.

The end.

(I'm way too much of a pessimist to enjoy those kind of stories)

Purvika (violetstygian) | 131 comments I don't like love triangles at all. Most of the books, female protagonist get intimate with both the guys and can't choose ? How can one love two at a time ? Its like taking two dresses and say oh what should I wear I am unable to choose. Yikes !!! Give me a break. The girl is shown so lovey dovey towards both the guys and the guys follow her like puppy. Same pattern all the time. Duh ! Comeon. Grow up. Its like a loop, merry go round with them. When she is with one she can't think of anything but him and same with other? Then suddenly by end she choose one ( which is already known by the reader because it becomes so predictable) . I think either they should not use love triangles and if they do then there should be something different and totally unpredictable. That makes the reader go bonkers.

Evan (sampsom) | 578 comments I find they are often the same. Or very similar. Yes they often do have a female character having to chose between two men one often being a childhood friend who they are very close to. I know no situations like this, none of my friends have had situations like this and none of the gossip I hear on the school bus informs me of any cases like it.

If they do happen I often find that they are two shallow in how they chose. They need to look deeper down and see how they really feel.

Shweta I really dislike love triangles. I find them incredibly frustrating to read and as mentioned before, predictable. I find that love triangles don't really do anything but make me strongly dislike certain characters (usually the one who has to make the decision) and I find that more often than not, they don't really benefit the plot.
