Amanda D | 7 comments Hello fellow DH fanatics! I have a question for you all based on a minor pet peeve I have. There is nothing I love more than a great long book series with characters you can enjoy. My peeve is when new books come out, with characters described as being more powerful than the characters we know and love! Within a few books in the DH world, you learn of some powerful badass characters like Acheron, Savitar, Apollymi, etc. Now, after many books, it's hard to figure out who is the most powerful being(s). As the CON series progresses, it seems Nick can be counted as one of the strongest beings in the series, even more so than Ash and Savitar. Wait...What? This can't be right because in my mind no one can touch Savitar and Ash is not far behind. Now, you have Noir and the other source gods, as well as, Ambrose, and the power structure has gone wonky! Ambrose is not scared of Savitar and claims that he lacked the power to kill him. Now throw in the future we see of the Malachi war and it seems like Nick/Ambrose is that powerful and beatable. My question is this: Does anyone believe that Nick could ever be that powerful? Does this seem wrong for anyone else other than me? If that is the case, I say let Apollymi loose on his ass and be done with it!

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Well if I am understanding things correctly. I would think that as Nick's heritage is from a much higher tier on the totem pole of baddies in the universe. And there are others above even his branch. So to answer your question. In some ways I do believe Nick is that powerful.

Is it wrong that he is? I wouldn't think so. Cause didn't it say in one of the books that the Malachai race was created by the darkest and most primal critters in the universe. So naturally to me it would stand to reason that no one thus far can take him out as they themselves are not one of those higher critters on the totem pole that can take him out or corral him at all.

And in theory it would be a easy fix to put Apollymi on him. But see, I think even her level of Gods and even herself isn't quite that strong. I could be wrong as I don't think there has been much of a match up/comparison of power levels between her Azura and Noir to be sure. But I think even Apollymi might get a spanking in this one.

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Wekl there has to be a balance in everything. Of course there are going to be beings more powerful than say Savitar, Apollymi, Ash, etc etc. So no I dont think it's wrong. Like Cherale stated, Nick comes from beings that were created the original gods. The oldest and most powerful. Not too mention it was stated every generation of malachai would be more powerful than its predecessors. So it would make sense for him to be on top of the food chain. Somebody has to be and it always changes. No one can stay on top forever. Theres always someone bigger and badder waiting to knock you off

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments And I think what makes Nick even stronger they keep saying is his human half. Cause unlike other Malachai being bred with other demons and the like. They more or less spun out and went crazy and didn't last long enough to be even close to where Nick is on his worst day.

message 14: by Slick (new)

Slick | 456 comments Nick....Can't he take the powers from the creatures he kills?
Even Ash said he would have the power to destroy him..

message 15: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments As far as we know that isn't an ability Nick has. And closet to any one having that is Katra. But she doesn't have to kill anybody to get their abilities.

message 16: by Slick (new)

Slick | 456 comments Acheron said that once a god has been identified the Malachai has the ability track them down and take their powers and it has been mentioned several times in CON.
He also said the only powers the Malachai does not have is time travel, create/restore life and to identify god's on sight.

Kat is a conduit. She can drain the powers of other gods.

message 17: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Really? I swear I need flash cards cause I don't recall that at all. Cause if that is the case why haven't there been other Malachais that killed Gods and taken their powers? And in that case if someone took out those Malachai's in particular their sons. Wouldn't said sons also get that power in turn?

Right, and she can transfer powers from one person to another without fully drain either side really if she so desires. Although I wonder if she did that more often, how many residual abilities would she pick up herself...

message 18: by Slick (new)

Slick | 456 comments Yeah i know it's SO hard to keep track!!!
Since it was revealed nick was the Malachai we've been led to believe the only one who could ever stop him was the Sephiroth but Adarian swears Jared can't beat him (Illusion when they talk)

From Kody on the other hand she is always saying how she is the only one who can beat him...

Ash mentions Nick can absorb powers (Time Untime when they chat)
