Yes he was at moments, but during other times, he was really sweet to her. Not to mention, he was only mean to protect her and so know one thought that he was playing favorites. Though I like that they had there arguments and didn't always get along. It shows that he's not flawless. I wonder how he will act in the second book since he doesn't have to pretend in front of others any more.

Did you guys think that the first book was really that good? Because I've started to read it - and I'm only like 50 pages in - but it just doesn't seem to be as good everyone says is.

Sibella | 10 comments I thought the exact same thing when I started to read it. Just get past the beginning and it really becomes amazing I promise :)

Bre For a book to be good you have to go in to it with out any expectations. I loved the book because its characters are so human. Can't wait till book three coming out in October 22

I know I want to read #2 before it comes out :)

message 8: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Smith (tiffanyasmith) I love dystopian future books and this is the one! The whole book (and I'm not the only one) I was waiting for Four to make a move on Tris. At first I wasn't even sure if he was into her but they make a great couple. I liked all the mysterious secrets about there not-so-perfect-government. I can't wait to read #2 and #3.

Bailey I really loved the first book. I did think that the 1st book was better than the 2nd though. I am excited to see if I like Allegiant being from both Tris and Tobias's perspective.

On that note do you guys think of him as Four or Tobias? I always think of him as Tobias.

I mainly think of him as Four. But then again, I've only read the first book.

I guess that makes sense considering that she didn't know he was Tobias in the beginning.

Emilie I know this is late but I absolutely enjoyed this book! It literally had taken a little bit of all my favourite books (The Hunger games, Twilight e.t.c), melted them in the microwave, mixed it thoroughly, baked it in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 45 minutes and Voila! Divergent. Okay, maybe the rest of the series didn’t exactly follow the same recipe but the first book was definitely AMAZING.

To be honest if I could’ve given the book a 4.5 star rating I would but since I didn’t couldn’t, I played it nice and gave it 5. The 1st reason that is, is because I’ll admit the plot can get a little painful to read sometimes and at one point I did actually cringe. And the 2nd is that my perspective of the whole series definitely changed because of the annoying ending of the last book. But overall it was an amazing book to read <3
