I'm going to have to cheat a little and start this as early as I can. Likely Friday or Saturday once I finish my reading for The Bonehunters. I've way over-committed myself for September so I can't afford to wait.
I really want to read this. I am going to order it from the library and see if I can pick it up later in the week.

Cool. Your first time joining us. I'm still surprised you haven't already read it...

I read this a few months ago but I will likely join in on the discussion.Rob, I do notice your random titles. A few weeks ago it was Quick Ben.
Not here. It's Quick Ben in the Malazan group.
For the last few months it's been "The Nerdy Ten" here.

I plan to join in as well, but maybe more at the beginning of September. With Last Argument of Kings, The Curse of Chalion and The Night Circus I've got three club books that I'd like to finish in August, next to staying on top of the Malazan read.
My problem is September/October. This is only book I have left to read this month, not counting the ~300 pages of Malazan I need to do.
In the next 6 weeks I'm scheduled to read 5 books AND ~900 pages of Malazan. If you stretch that to 7 weeks, it's 6 books AND 1050 pages of Malazan.
That's way too damn much. If I don't knock this book out quickly something is going to have to give (likely the S&L September pick depending on what it is).
I'm already going to be pushing October's S&L pick until After The Republic of Thieves.

Going to haunt you all and see what you think about this series. And if anyone should happen to post a spoiler tag, I will be excited to finally be able to click on it.
Can't wait to see what Rob changes his title to for this book. ^^
Thieves prosper!

I was planning to change it to something from the book, but then I realized I basically know very little about it. I'm sure I'll figure something out. ^_^

I've already read this and the next book. One of my favourites so I'll be keeping eye on the discussion.
I did start this a couple of months ago, but I got distracted with work and other books. So I will restart and join in with you all.
If you don't have time for silly things, please don't waste any of it on continuing this post, cause it is rather silly and in no way helpful or productive. But every time I see this thread popping up, I have the urge to read about a military commander called General Stuff. Please Terry Pratchett, make this happen!
See, useless post being useless, but it needed to get out. I'll try to behave now.
Rob wrote: "Maybe for book 2 I'll call the thread Major General Stuff. Give him a promotion."That would actually be much appreciated.^^

I did a quick breakdown yesterday (I've had my books for months since I got it free from GoodReads). I originally went for the usual ~100 pages/in my edition, but ended up tweaking it slightly.
The book as at least 4 parts, and a few of the section breaks fell within about 20 pages of where I would have broken up, so I may have adjusted things up or down a little accordingly.
The book appears to be filled with Interludes, but thankfully they are named. Chapters also look to be fairly long, but broken down into numbered sections, so there don't appear to be a high number of chapters despite it being over 700 pages in MMPB.
Anyways, sound off in here if you plan on joining in. I'll likely have threads up on Friday or Sat sometime.
