Jo I don't watch the show because it has almost nothing to do with the books that I loved to read. The last book reminded me of the show. It had little to do with the books I loved to read. It was nice that several key characters showed up to wrap up their story. The blood and killing pretty much the same as the last couple of books. (if I ever need to dispose of a body I will look for a supe to help) The romance at the end I saw coming but did not agree with.

Line I'm really, really disappointed in the last two books, they seemed removed from the original story, if you know what I mean...

And yeah, I deffinately didn't like the ending...!

Richard I liked the ending Sam was the nice guy that was always there and did not ever have secret plains to use Sookie . so the Good guy was the best guy in the End . but sookie also stated she did not like where her life was taking her and she did not like the choice she had made . at the end she stood up and said I am Sookie Stackhouse .I am here and I belong . throw the book her telepathic ability always made her feel like she did not fit in she was less then the people around her . she final accepted it was part of her and not a cruse . she accepted to try and date Sam . a Good man that tried hard to stand up for what he thought was right .
AS for the last book it sucked it was not even a murder mystery it felt like a true blood show.

As for the TV show shrug it not Sookie Stackhouse murder mystery . but it is Charlaine Harris world from the books just the character where totally different . I think the TV show would have been better to leave out the murder mystery novel characters and just used them in cameo's

Don't know where you got the fact that she finally accepted her telepathy because that's simply not true. In 'After Dead', (the books that's just been released that reveals what has gone on in everybody's lives) Sookie still hates her telepathy and thinks of it as a disability. There's a passage in the book that says that when Mr C (demon laywer) said that he would not give telepathy to her grandchildren, she said, "Thank God." or something to that effect.
Even at the end of the series, Sookie didn't accept her telepathy. She thought it was a curse and she hated it, even to the bitter end.

Holly Calhoun I hated the ending of the last book. And I loved the TV show when it first came out it's how I learned of Charlaine Harris. But after the 3rd season I was over the show and in love with all of Harris' books.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* I also hated the ending of this book. The entire book was flawed. However, I'm glad to have read this series as I loved the earlier pieces and being part of Sookie's world.

I really enjoyed all of the books, and actually started them because of the TV show. They are definitely different, but I love both. For the most part, I don't compare the two since the show is just "based off of" the books.

As for the last book and ending...I don't like that she ended up with Sam, but I get why she did. I felt like it was a good ending and am happy with it.

E TV show >> book series

Lynne Macdonald I hated the True Blood series. Alan Ball ruined a good series to me. He should of just stuck to the basic story line. He lost me on the second season with the Maenad crap- really a whole season on that? However, he could have had Sookie ending up with Eric and turned into a vampire. At this point that would not matter. But my point is I hated the True Blood series. I never seen such a deviation from a story line ever. Not even remotely resembles it at all. But if that was his goal- well baby you sure as hell succeeded. The after he damages it beyond recognition Alan Ball leaves.. W T H??? this is my opinion.
