I loved this book, I just read it and it has become one of my very favorite

Sigh...... yeah that about sums it up right.
Have you read Vampire Academy? It's about vampires (shocker). The main character is learning to be a guardian of moroi-the good vampires and kill the bad ones-strigoi. There are awesome characters, romance, a ton of action, and overall, it's great!

Oh, and I am not sure what genre The Name of the Star would be under... It's about ghost detectives/hunters, jack the ripper and it has some mystery in it. It's kinda dark and scary, I was actually surprised I liked it so much.

I recommend "The Sky is Everywhere" by Jandy Nelson. Especially if you like contemporary YA novels

I have already read it and it was amazing!! Thanks though.

Both series are by Cassandra Clare
I love both of these series so much and If you haven't read them you are seriously missing out.
