From a hobbit of questionable bravery and skill, Bilbo turns into a shining beacon of hope for not only the company of dwarves, but for Middle Earth, setting into motion the events of The Lord of the Rings series and saving the day on more than one occasion.

This is a place to discuss our small, but mighty, hero and his role in the adventures that take place in Middle Earth :)

My precious Bilbo. A little Hobbit who did big things. He was not only small in stature but also small in mind, yet he stood up in an adventure and fought as well as the rest of them. Could humans, of bigger size and bigger mind do as much?

So excited for the second movie!! It includes one of my fave scenes from the book - where Bilbo faces Smaug. Such a change from the content (and well fed!) hobbit he was when the journey began.
