I thought it would be fun for us to take the Austin duck tour so that we could get an tour of the city. How many would like to go? If most everyone wants to go, we will need to make individual reservations. The time of the tour is 11 am on Friday, September 27th. The cost is $25.95 ($23.95 for 55+). Before anyone calls for a reservation, would you let me know if this is something you would like to do? After the tour, we'll have lunch somewhere and then go to the O. Henry Museum or the Bullock Texas State History Museum. On Saturday, we will spend the day at the University, visiting the LBJ Library in the morning and the Blanton Museum of Art.

Yes, I'd like to do it too. Duck boats can go on land and water, so I assume that it would include some time seeing the city from the river and lake, which would be different from what we could see in other ways.
You will have to make your reservations individually. Here is the number: 512-477-5274. They seem to be there in the morning.Charles, why not meet us in the lobby at 10 am? Some of us are early risers and may head into Austin early. I will let you know. That's why I needed your cell phone number.
Anyway, we will meet for dinner on Thursday and can perhaps find a bookstore near the "duck place".
Assuming they end up where they start, the best nearby bookstore is BookPeople at 6th and Lamar. It's about 12 blocks from where the Duck tours start and is "the" downtown bookstore, if not the entire city.

I hope that you will join us for some or all of our activities.
I just looked up Book People and it opens at 9 am. We can get there by 9:30 and spend an hour before we head down the street to the Duck Tour! What fun!
Yes, I do live in Austin - feel free to pick my brain. Such as, "Will it be hot?" Answer: "Yes, it will almost definitely be ridiculously hot." I'd love to meet up for one of the Saturday activities, depending on my schedule.
