This message board thread is intended for anyone who hasn't finished reading The Yellow Birds by Kevin Powers, so please make every effort not to mention any spoilers in your comments. We have created a separate thread for those who have already finished reading the book.

Powers has been chosen as a finalist for the 2013 Library of Virginia Award for Fiction which will be presented during a luncheon at this year's James River Writers Conference on Saturday, October 19th. He was also named a 2012 National Book Award Finalist.
