Ok, so I figured that when someone says something, most people like those here in our Books and Writing group immediately springboard off of it, right? Well, I figured we should totally have somewhere we can do that! If anybody has an idea (seriously, anybody step in here) we'll all just build off of it! I'll try to start and see how far it takes us.

Did we just miss the zombie apocalypse? Seriously?! How?! Anyways, we should all band together. We shall survive! We shall see, then conquer.

Hey everyone, I kind of had an idea but I don't really know where to go with it. Will you guys help me build off of it? The idea is as follows:

It's the year 2078 and our story follows sixteen year old Sam Carlin. 20 years earlier, Japan and China united forces and became a single power, the [insert name, because I haven't thought of one. We'll call them Powers for now, so I can continue to write this]. The Powers surprise attacked the Eastern part of the USA, claiming Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Mississippi. More and more states are claimed as the war rages on. Sam lives in Oklahoma with her mom, dad, and older brother. The rest of her family is ready to fight for the Conglomeration of Territories (what America and it's government became after the aforementioned states were taken), but she isn't so sure. When Sam is out late one night, she meets a secret organization that is for the Powers. She knows it is dangerous to attend, and her parents would disown her if they knew, but when she stumbles across one of their meetings in a tavern one night when trying to find her drunkard uncle she just can't help but attend and listen. When she comes back...her perspective changes. She is for the Powers. She begins attending all meetings of this organization, and get's in with the ringleader, dashing 18 year old Mathew. As she learns more and more, she becomes a spy for the Powers and it's organization. At the same time as this, Sam's parents (who have been fighting, along with her brother, for 15 years) are nominated for an award and are taken to the Conglomeration's HQ, with Sam in tow, to receive awards and meet our Overseer. When she meets him, one thing leads to another and she becomes his informant, while in all reality feeding him false information to aid the Powers in winning the war. She now dances a fine line. She can't be caught by the government, or she will be executed by firing squad without further thought. With Mathew (who is gruff at first, but then warms up to her ;)) at her side, they are taking on the Conglomeration. Who will win the war? Will Sam betray her family, or go back to her roots in the end? Does Mathew love Sam, or do we eventually have a love triangle?

It's all up to us now. I'm sorry this post is so long, I had one idea in mind and that's what I began typing but then I changed the whole thing while in the middle of it, and it became more than I originally thought. You guys think you can help me make anything out of it?

Carley Well since it's kinda the end of humanity as we know it we might as well add the impending zombie apocalypse that the powers have complete control over as. The powers have slowly developed the technology to bring loved ones back from the dead, but they're not quite the same. This plays a key role in Sam's switching of sides when her best friend who was on vacation in New York was killed by a gang of some sort. When she finds out they have the power to bring the dead to life she wonders if it will work, but what are the cost, will her friend really truly return from the dead?

Carley Sorry, just found a bug in my bed, I've got some weird things going on in my head, cuz the bug scared me to death

Ok. Ummm, only if you think we could work it in. I'm not sure if I could maneuver that into the plot so that it actually makes sense, but we could sure try :)!

Eh, lets keep the zombie apocalypse out though. With all of the new technology of the year 2078 we'll just have to ax that one.
