I figure, build it and they will come. Sounds like we have a few people interested.. What kind of format are we looking at? People post their book of the week? Physical book club or virtual? I love talking over recent books over a pint. Should we use meetup.com or something like that to manage it?

Yeah sure. even if it's just three of us at first. it's been hard to find a book club in calgary. should we start with five members? I'm definitely interested. weekly, monthly?

Happy New Year as well. Do you think we should create a group on Meetup.com, or should we just decide to meet from here?

With meetup.com there is a commitment to meet once a month which I think gives enough time to plan one's schedule.

We all have ideas and a casual meetup will help up discuss the goal of the club. (Now there's a reason to constantly read--from the last page read a month ago.)

The big question is who will lead us? Is there anyone who is up for the challenge? I think it's clear that we all want to have a book club. So where do we go from here?

I appreciate your initiative in setting up a meetup group but I think we can all get started right away if we join an established book club in meetup.com.

I haven't search for a group yet. It would be best if we could join in a group not sticking to a genre.

I've not had luck finding groups in Calgary that are still active aside from the one at Chapters every month. Do any of you participate in that?

I'm still interested in getting this going lol.

I haven't seen anything besides the Chapters one. Does anyone have ideas?
