I remember her before the ninja thing, and during.. I don't recall how the transformation occurred...

Thanks Scott. I was just looking through some issues from Inferno, and I see where she's different that how she was first introduced, but certainly not the ninja with the psychic knife yet... forgot about that...

Lisa (lisadannatt) | 211 comments She was really badly portrayed in X3

Lisa (lisadannatt) | 211 comments I only realized it was her when the credits came up! She's a purple- haired ninja! Not hard to make her obvious.

I'd seen X3 and didn't catch her... maybe I didn't see the whole movie after all...

Lisa (lisadannatt) | 211 comments She's in the brotherhood. Storm electrocutes her.

message 8: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisadannatt) | 211 comments I agree!

Travis (travishiltz) | 196 comments While 'psychic knife using, thong wearing ninja' Betsey has had some good moments, I think I prefer the earlier version.

Nah, Storm electrocutes a speedster, Psylocke gets disintegrated by Jean."

Okay, haven't seen it in years. Thanks William

I've never seen her appeal. Most likely because I lack the Y chromosome

Lisa (lisadannatt) | 211 comments She runs around in a bathing suit!

message 13: by Travis (new)

Travis (travishiltz) | 196 comments Yes, her being hot was a contributing factor, but I also liked her, as a psychic knife is a pretty cool/unique power and she was pretty kick ass, which made her different where most X-women were strong women, but not action heroes.

I do get annoyed that the only way we got a kick ass member on the team, was to trade away one of the rare realistically looking woman on the team.

Well, Marvel artists are the same guys that thought the Beast needed goggles and that Cable's secret covert team needed matching orange outfits.
Not the best judgement when it comes to design.

Lisa (lisadannatt) | 211 comments Okay, so I'm hesitant to tell you this- there's a new Xmen series that started in July this year. So it's Xmen volume 4, written by Wood & Coipel. Illustrated by Morales & Martin.
It's an all female team: storm, rogue, Rachel grey, Shadowcat, psylocke and jubilee.

Is that the team that also includes Puck from Alpha Flight?
I was going to check that out, but trying to sift through the 128 X-titles I think I gave up and tried one of Dynamites many revamps of a golden age hero instead.

message 17: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisadannatt) | 211 comments I'm not sure, all females, no puck so far.

Hesitant? Why is that? That sounds like a cool team -I was reading the comic back in the day and there was Storm, Rogue, Rachel and Kitty (and some guys as well)- I think that Psylocke came in as they lost Kitty and Rachel...

So, marvel has two X-teams that are all girl and two X-forces?

message 20: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisadannatt) | 211 comments @ James
Hesitation was sarcasm
Because there have been some very amusing comments wrt Kitty and Psylocke
Can someone explain why Jubilee is a vampire? Or is this a spill over effect from the sparkly vampire craze?

Lisa (lisadannatt) | 211 comments Blade? Like Wesley Snipes Blade?

Lisa (lisadannatt) | 211 comments Cool costume- more ninja-esque less show-girl.

message 24: by Travis (new)

Travis (travishiltz) | 196 comments Really good podcast, Cerebro, had an episode about Betsey and it did a great deep dive into her history. Really interesting.

Makes me want to check out the new Excalibur series.
