Lenneth reached the bottom of the ladder and grabbed Shira's hand. He led her through the sewers.

Lenneth stopped walking when they reached a dry section. "This is our stop." Lenneth reached into one of his backpacks and grabbed a sleeping bag. he aranged it so there would be enough room for another one later. He motioned for Shira to come sit.

"How long are we staying?"
Lenneth sighed."As long as we need to. Maybe a month. Why?"

"Holy shit." She whispered
"What is it?" Lenneth asked.
Mod
"That's amazing. You know I'd understand if you wanted to go back to be there for them. I'll survive on my own." Lenneth said.
Mod
"Don't you get it? Lenneth I never want to leave you. Ever." She sat on his lap and wrapped her arms around him.
"I love you so much. Thousands of miles are way too far from you."
"I get it." he said wrapping his arms around her. He loved her more than she would ever know. He released her as he pulled a laptop from out of his backpack. "If you want I can pull up the video feed from the hideout and you can see what is going on."

Lenneth laughed, "And I don't blame you." Lenneth closed his eyes and disappeared into his thoughts. He had to make it perfectly clear to himself that he didn't carry all of the blame for what happened to Gwen.

"huh? Oh yeah. Just trying to convince myself that everything that has happened to Gwen and my family wasn't all my fault." he said honestly.

"I'm the one that told my parents that Skylar seemed like the perfect match for our family. If I hadn't said that we wouldn't have picked her and she wouldn't have started us out. Don't you see? It all comes back to me." Lenneth felt helpless.

"You're right. I'm not evil. I'm just bad luck."

"Lenneth Drakoy. Get your sorry ass up. Stop pitying yourself. You. Are. Good." She glared
Lenneth stood and walked about five feet away and then turned around and walked back. He did this about 10 times before he finally stopped in front of Shira. He pulled her in and kissed her passionately.

Lenneth finally pulled away and looked into Shira's eyes. He wanted to kiss her again but something told him he shouldn't. "I love you," he said instead.

"I love you too." She hugged him
He hugged her back. He wasn't quite ready to go back to the hideout but decided that it might be best for them both to get back. "How would you feel about going home tomorrow?" He took her hands in his which always made him happier.

"Are you ready? I'd love to meet my niece and nephew but if your not ready im not leaving."
"No you are needed there. Trust me your niece needs you right now. So I will return on one condition." Lenneth released Shira's left hand and reached into his backpack.

Lenneth got down on one knee and pulled his hand out of his backpack revealing a ring box. He opened it and looked Shira in the eye. "Will you marry me?"

Shiras eyes widened and her mouth dropped.
"Lenneth...of course. Yes." She nodded and tears came to her eyes

"Shira look at me," Lenneth said putting the ring away. He got in her path and when she got close to him he grabbed her shoulders. "We are mutants. Human laws don't apply to us. As for where I got the ring Gwen brought it with her from our house in DC. Remember when you had to go after her? Well she got it then. It was our mothers. She never wore it. Instead she wore a cheap ring that looked like it was worth thousands. In all reality it was only worth about 20 dollars. Next question of when did I figure it out. I figured it out when I picked up a transmission that said Rutherford was gathering all of his mutants and sending them with exterminators to kill us. If I have to face the possibility of death I would rather face it with the strength that comes from husband and wife than the flimsy break-apart-at-any-moment feeling that comes from boyfriend girlfriend. Now I already kind of answered your final question when. I said their laws don't apply to us but, I also believe that we can because we love each other enough to do that. So I will ask again. Will you marry me?" Lenneth released her shoulders.

"I may be completely crazy but yes. I love you so much, Lenneth Drakoy." She hugged him tight

"I was thinking of a nice May wedding." Lenneth said. "What do you think?"

"Exactly. So do you want to leave now or tomorrow?" Lenneth asked.

"Lets leave first thing tomorrow morning." Lenneth grasped her hand and took her back over to the sleeping bag. He took out the second sleeping bag and connected them at the zippers so that the 2 sleeping bags made one big one.

"Lenneth. I love you. I do. But i need to know that if we get married you'll be around more. You'll be there for me as much as i am for you which is 24/7." She said and looked at the ring on her finger
"Of course I will babe. I promise. If you ever think that I'm not doing something I should tell me so I know for next time. I love you. I want to take care of you and treat you right," Lenneth said embracing Shira and planting a kiss on her head.((That promise however doesn't mean that I can get on more than I already do. I already push the limits.))
