Okay, this book sounds like something I would immensely enjoy. Nell Gwyn was pretty cool from what I read of her, she was a mistress to Charles II, she came from the streets, but she never really forgot that.Anyways, I'm adding this to my TBR!
I really want to read this but my library doesn't have it nor does Borders. I went online to Better World Books and this was their product description...A collection of over 120 poems about wickedness, evil, and mischief by such authors as William Shakespeare, Lewis Carroll, Shel Silverstein, and Rudyard Kipling.
???

I must admit to not knowing that much about the time period (it's over-shadowed in my mind by the later Regency and Victorian eras) but the detail in the book was wonderful. The main character spends much of the book in the employ of Nelly Gwyn (yeah! historical name checks) and meets other historical figures both known (Samuel Pepys) and unknown (Claud Duval) to me.
Has anyone else read this?
