Existentialism discussion

Hi ,
I have read most of Nietzsche's books but I guess I prefer something less intense with a story plot. I've been looking around and have came up with " the stranger" and " the gambler " ! I'd really appreciate i could get some suggestions on what to read to get more familiar with the genre !

Well, if you really want to take a break from the heavy going, I would suggest readig Kurt Vonnegut. Most of his stuff is excellent, humerous, and has an existential message at the heart. Slaughter House Five is his best known and most personal work. I just finished Mother Night, and in a way it reminded me of Camus' Stranger. Welcome to the Monkey House is a collection of shorts and good one to see if you like his writing. Existentialism is great, but hell, we've got to be able to laugh as well to keep from going nuts. You could read the theatrical play "No Exit" by Sartre. Thought provoking, easy to read and existential to the core! A novel that comes to mind also is "The Tunnel" by Ernesto Sabato. I'm not sure you could call them less intense, but they do have a plot :-)
