I love the Mr. Monk book series. I've read the first 5 of them so far, and I think they're just as good, if not better than the TV show. Today I ordered "Mr. Monk in Trouble" from the Mystery Guild, cuz they're having a sale.

i havent read any of the mr monk books, but the tv series was great!the ending wasnt the greatest though....but i still loved it. i think that there should have been 10 seasons :)
I did not know either that there are books, if the books are new stories I would love to read them. Me and my daughters were so sad after the show ended.

"Mr. Monk Goes to the Firehouse"
"Mr. Monk Goes to Hawaii"
"Mr. Monk and the Blue Flu"
"Mr. Monk and the Two Assistants"
"Mr. Monk in Outer Space"
"Mr. Monk Goes to Germany"
"Mr. Monk is Miserable"
"Mr. Monk and the Dirty Cop"
"Mr. Monk in Trouble"
They're all by Lee Goldberg, who also wrote for the TV series as well as others. So, he's VERY familiar with the characters personalities & quirks, which is why they're SOOOO good. "Mr. Monk in Trouble" is the newest one out.
Today I started "Mr. Monk Goes to Germany". That book is so cute. Dr. Kroger went to a psychiatric conference in Germany, and Monk's having a meltdown. So I'm on page 72 and him & Natalie are on a plane to Germany to hunt him down. It's so funny. :)
Hi all, I have read 3 of these books and I'm a huge fan of the show. I have seen every episode many times. My favorite is probably Mr. Monk takes his Medicine. Also loved Mr. Monk is someone Else.
I was very sad when the series ended.I have read all the book's and enjoy them very much. The best part of the books is the way you can into their heads now and understand the thought process more.It made watching the shows more enjoyable.I enjoy the synergy. Thanks God I was able to get my bobblehead before the series was over.
Hey i just joined this group and i didnt relize monk had books!! im soo excited im def goin to start reading them!! I LUV MONK!!
Lee Goldberg is the author and he is here on Goodreads also. His blog is excellent and he is a very nice guy.The novels are nice.
If you loved the show - you will love the books too! It is like "reading" the show. I can just watch it in my head, if you know what I mean. I have read them all but the one that just came out in 2010. I really enjoyed Mr. Monk in Trouble - you will meet another Mr. Monk from history :)
There have been three more books since Mr. Monk in Trouble -- Mr. Monk is Cleaned Out, Mr. Monk on the Road and Mr. Monk on the Couch. The next book, Mr Monk on Patrol, comes out in January 2012.
Mr. Monk is MiserableMr. Monk Goes to Germany

Mr. Monk in Trouble
Mr. Monk is a Mess
Mr. Monk on the Road
Mr. Monk Is In Outer Space
Mr. Monk and the Dirty Cop
And of course the one I just started:
Mr. Monk On Patrol
And I still have 2 more to read!
I just finished "Mr. Monk On The Road", "Mr. Monk On Patrol", and "Mr. Monk Is A Mess". I still have "Mr. Monk and the Blue Flu"
