Shari-amor | 5275 comments ** WARNING ** There are revelations concerning Urian in these questions from the book Styxx. There will be Spoilers. Because I want people to be open, I'm not gonna be strict with the spoiler tags.
Urian is definitely a character that has evolved and changed throughout the series. Starting out as an antagonist, he served as his fathers' 1st in command in the Spathi Daimon Army, now he's Acherons right hand man. He has known love and had it prematurely taken from him. He still grieves till this day. I would ask everyone be respectful in discussing him and to not belittle or put down another persons views. Agree to disagree if it comes to it.

Questions
1. What were your feelings toward Urian when you were first introduced to him!?

2. Did your perception of him begin to change when discovering his love of Phoebe or after Stryker killed them both!?

3. Urian assisted in killing Pheobe's other sisters and mother but spared her life. She never discovered the truth and he feared to tell her. Do you believe if she had known, would she have remained with Urian!? Do you think it was wise for him to keep it to himself or is it understandable why remained silent!?

4. Do you believe there could ever be any reconciliation between Stryker and Urian!?

5. Because Urian was originally thought to be just a daimon, did you find it peculiar that Stryker cut his throat instead of stabbing him in the heart to kill him!? Did that send up any red flags for you!? What did you think it meant!?

6. We also discover that he is Styxx's son that was believed to be dead. Did you have any inkling that Galen could be Urian or were you surprised!?

7. How do you think it would affect any future relationship with Stryker, if there would be any!? Or a relationship with his half-sister Madea!?

I'll ask one last time to be respectful, you will be warned if I feel you are attacking not just each other but the character as well. All views, opinions and oppositions are welcome. ;-)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments LOL I thought this was so funny

Posted on his blog on July 3, 2013

Someone needs an intervention

I have decided that I have definitely won Uncle AND Brother-in-law of the Year. Why? Because I haven’t called Child Services on Cassandra and Wulf. It was bad enough the first time I went to babysit and found Tyr dressed like this…

dismissed it as Simi camouflage and figured it was Cass’s way of keeping Simi from eating the baby.

But this… this is beyond cruel. It’s bad enough they dressed Tyr like this, but the fact they made photos and posted them on FB…

I need to take custody of my niece and nephews before permanent damage is done. I can’t believe for this I got my throat cut. Man, there’s no justice in the world.

I know, little buddy, I’d be sticking my tongue out, too. Oh the humanity.

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I also created this thread because after reading Styxx, I'm sure more people are going to want to talk about him.

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments I know he loved Phoebe. but is there chance he could find another girl to fall in love with?

message 7: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I'm sure she will get around to his story. But awwww these are too scrumptious. And clearly Wulf and ol' Cassy must have been really getting the babies all out there if there is more nephews and a niece now. Just wow.

Not right now no. He still misses her a lot. Like Cherale said, he'll get his story eventually but he's still grieving Phoebe.

Lol!! Right. Well of course they kinda have to. If her side of the family dies so do all of the apollites. No pressure though. lol

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments what are the odds of him and Stryker talking?

message 11: by Neko (new)

Neko (loveless3173) Ray (warrior of randomness) XP wrote: "what are the odds of him and Stryker talking?"

..hmm.. I think they'd kill Apollo (therefore end the world) Before he ever civilly speaks to Stryker again. LOL..

message 12: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Yeah I don't think he'd have a civil thing to say to Stryker. He might let go of having his throat cut (hundreds of years from now lol) but he's not forgiving him for killing Phoebe.

message 13: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments And Stryker would have nothing to say to him either. He is essentially dead to him now.

message 14: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Yeah pretty much. He's found something better in the daughter he never knew.

i'm hoping that Phoebe is reborn.. or maybe somehow finds a way to not die.. but we didn't know. like a huge misunderstanding.. as only Kenyon can do.

It would suck to have his other half missing..

message 22: by Adoore (new)

Adoore | 219 comments I am also hoping that Phoebe is reborn or that she was saved by some goddess and will eventually find her way to Urian again. Their love was so strong and beautiful to be replaced.

message 23: by Trina (new)

Trina (afterdarkrendezvous) I saw the Urian/Styxx connection right away so I wasn't surprised. Wish I knew who the model was that portrays him on SLK character profile. I think his story will be epic once it gets told.

I don't think Urian and Stryker will ever get along; I hope not at least. It's been a long time since I've read Cassandra's story, gonna have to do that!

message 24: by Ora (new)

Ora (oeamis) I am curious if/when Stryker will find out that Urian is Styxx's son. Is this something that Urian will find pleasure in telling Stryker just to inflict pain or will it be Urian prefer not Stryker knowing.
Personally I think if Stryker does find out, it will be just more pain he will inflict on Apollo.

message 25: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Whaley (beckers77) | 386 comments Apollymi said in Styxx that she told Stryker years ago and that's why he cut his throat instead of thru the heart. I just finished Styxx so it's still fresh in my head.

message 26: by Juana "Darkness" (new)

Juana "Darkness" Duran In the which book does Urian first get introduced?

message 27: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Kiss of the Night. We discover he is Cassandra's brother-in-law.

Nicole *TheRoseAndTheStar* | 886 comments Kiss of the night if I recall correctly. He is Cassandra's brother in law

message 29: by Juana "Darkness" (last edited Mar 02, 2015 05:36PM) (new)

Juana "Darkness" Duran the reason I ask is because I've been reading Sherrilyn Kenyons books for a while but not in the order that they are supposed to go. I know dumb right, but my favorite so far is Styxx (Dark-Hunter, #12) by Sherrilyn Kenyon .

Nicole *TheRoseAndTheStar* | 886 comments Dance with the Devil is my personal favorite Juana

message 31: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Not dumb Juana. There are tons of folks that have read out of order. For this particular series, hats off to you and them. I would have had such a migraine for life if I did lol.

message 32: by Juana "Darkness" (new)

Juana "Darkness" Duran Thanks guys. If I had to choose I'd pick Dance with the Devil (Dark-Hunter, #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon as my second favorite.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Zarek is pretty stellar.

Nicole *TheRoseAndTheStar* | 886 comments Oh I just love him sooo much haha but knowing Styxx was very important to the story too

message 35: by Manuela (last edited Mar 26, 2015 07:02AM) (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Questions
1. What were your feelings toward Urian when you were first introduced to him!?

I didn't really like him. Yeah, I did not like that his father cut his throat but I was still realing from that whole Apollites are bad kind of thing to all of the sudden they are humans with feelings and a really sucking life so there is a reason why some of them go over to the dark side.

2. Did your perception of him begin to change when discovering his love of Phoebe or after Stryker killed them both!?

Yeah, after I found out he had a wife he loved with all his heart, damn, made me sniff and pulled down my prejudicial walls around my heart.

3. Urian assisted in killing Pheobe's other sisters and mother but spared her life. She never discovered the truth and he feared to tell her. Do you believe if she had known, would she have remained with Urian!? Do you think it was wise for him to keep it to himself or is it understandable why remained silent!?

She was very family oriented and I believe she would have had a really hard time to forgive him for killing her siblings. I am not sure if they would have reconciled in time so I think it was better that he did not tell her.

4. Do you believe there could ever be any reconciliation between Stryker and Urian!?

Doubt it, especially now that he has found his real parents and does actually like them. Losing his wife has hit him hard and forgiveness is divine (damn, that he has only his mom on the god side of things).

5. Because Urian was originally thought to be just a daimon, did you find it peculiar that Stryker cut his throat instead of stabbing him in the heart to kill him!? Did that send up any red flags for you!? What did you think it meant!?

Since I did not like him, I did not pay particular attention to that titbit. I thought it cruel that "the father" killed "the son" for what he deemed insubordination, but hey I still believe Stryker to be an a..hole.

6. We also discover that he is Styxx's son that was believed to be dead. Did you have any inkling that Galen could be Urian or were you surprised!?

Halfway through the book I kind of thought that a few things were predictable but that solution seemed so fitting since he was the first who found out Styxx had left the island he was given to live in his -unbeknown to him- wife's temple. They hit it off instantly. I am still wondering why Styxx did not go stark raving mad in his 11000 year banishment on the vanishing isle. So finding his wife was a gift, but getting the son back he so longed for was the cherry on top.

7. How do you think it would affect any future relationship with Stryker, if there would be any!? Or a relationship with his half-sister Madea!?

I don't believe that he will have a future relationship with Stryker, unless the reason why Stryker killed him turns out to be false. I don't see Stryker as the forgiving guy, especially now that the father-son bond is non existant.
He has a half sister? What book haven't I read???

message 36: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Lol Manuela. I was essentially speaking of Medea. The child that Styrker's wife had on her own. I know that Stryker isn't trully his father but he raised him and so I count Madea as his half sister. That's the way I feel about my siblings even though we aren't blood related

message 37: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Ah, his, hers and theirs... LOL Ok I get it, but somehow I missed that, I don't think I read Strykers book I don't like him that much, and if I did I may have not paid attention. Sorry ~look to the floor and shuffle my feet~

message 38: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

It was some good tidbits but you learn them in the next book as well

message 39: by Mauaqui (new)

Mauaqui | 42 comments I was absolutely without words when I found out Uriah was Galen, Styxx's son.

message 40: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I know right? So out of the blue. But guess couldn't leave him in Stryker's shadow for very long like that.

message 41: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Oh come on. Everyone was bitching and carrying on about how sad it was that he lost Phoebe and how odd it was that Stryker cut his throat. He is the only one unattached for quite a while. He was conveniently placed. ~snicker~

message 42: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Well I expected some drinking or something, not a whole new family though, lol. I mean how you lose your wife to gain your mama, daddy, new sibling, and even Ash and co. all in one sitting? That is definitely a big change.

Yeah, I loved that. Someone standing up to Ash and telling him to pull his head out of his you-know-what.

message 45: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments That's funny that many say that about Ash needing that talking to. But do any of you guys think you could have gotten the same talking to and been more open to a relative that had done you "wrong" in the past?

message 46: by Charlotte, Cheesy Cakes (last edited Mar 27, 2015 01:32PM) (new)

Charlotte (charkro) | 1798 comments That's a good point there, Dhfan. Not to mention that it's likely that Ash wouldn't have listened at all if Tory hadn't said something beforehand, like she did.

I don't know about anyone else, but it seemed to me that as I came across Urian in the books between One Silent Night and Styxx, he seemed ... extra surly, more than before.

I attributed that to Urian being mad at Ash on Styxx's behalf, after reading Styxx.

message 47: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Mhmm, I mean when your significant other is saying give him another chance that says something. But I'll admit if it were me, and although I know it may sound petty as all get out. I wouldn't want to hear it from my loved ones OR the wronged relative and did as Ash did when Styxx first came to him about working things out. Relegate his butt to no man's land and be all wrapped up in my self righteousness for a while! Haha, cause I know for damn sure I give people the benefit of the doubt to the point that I'm nearly bent in half from it, nearly feeling the welcome mat grown over my butt and back, and taste the blood from nearly all the backstabbings I get from it at times. So yea Ash and Styxx more than get the award of the year for forgiving each other so much.

I agree with your assessment as well about Urian, Charlotte. Although I attested it to combo losing his wife(even though he probably thought in his own way he was doing everything to keep her safe), his "dad" cutting his throat, and also to be saved by his once believed to be "enemy" Ash? Yep, all that combined is why I was thinking he was so surly so often. And also why I wasn't feeling too much for him after his wife died. He truly was a different man when Phoebe was around and I don't know, I saw a bit more hope and wanting to change his ways and mindset when she was alive. Lost her and then it was just walking, talking, 'tude save for the time we got to see him and Simi watching tv together.

message 48: by Katelyn (new)

Katelyn (katelynpreece) | 532 comments My advice to Styxx would be the wisdom of Tyrion Lannister

"Let me give you some advice arrogant prince. Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you."

Not that I think Styxx is arrogant, far from it. But Tyrion's advice is just the bomb.

It would of gone something like this:

Acheron: What's so bad about your life? The valet forget to bring out your clothes or your toast got burnt?

Styxx: No worse! The maid forgot to make my bed! Oh the humanity...Then walk away.

Ryssa: I wish you were tied down and raped

Styxx: As long as they're willing to pay (whatever the Greek equivalent is to 100 billion dollars)

Ryssa: Ugh you're so arrogant. You're not worth that much.

Styxx: You're absolutely right sweet sister. I'm worth more. Honestly they should be honoured by the discount

Ryssa: You're not a man Styxx, you're just a little boy

Styxx: Does it really matter if I'm a man, a boy, or a tree? Why don't you mind your own business and I'll mind mine?

Ryssa: Screaming insults at Styxx

Styxx: I may be arrogant sweet sister, but at least I don't scream mean words at their own brother. I wonder what Acheron would think of you, that you can insult someone else to make yourself feel better.

Acheron: What's your problem!? You're the one wearing a gold trimmed chlamys

Styxx: Seriously you're getting the shit beaten out of you and you have a problem with my clothes? Man your tough. Here brother *takes off my gold trimmed chlamys* I hope your happier now.

LOL if Styxx had Tyrion Lannister as like another older brother or something...hahaha so epic, and can teach Styxx all those skills.

message 49: by Manuela (last edited Mar 30, 2015 07:27AM) (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments So Urian is Ash's nephew. Is he gonna call him uncle now??? And if they all work together now against whoever the bad guy(s) is(are), will the Dark Hunters find out about the massive family they are working with, basicly Ash giving away he is a God? Looks to me like an Italian mafia family. Like everyone is related to the other over a few corners, at least.

message 50: by Ameliacullen1 (new)
