Today, my Caribbean mystery, DEADLY EYES, reached a #1 Best Seller rank at Amazon. I am on Cloud 9, as you can pretty well imagine.http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_nos...
Thank you for allowing us to share in this thread!I recently had a dream-come-true moment when BBC Radio Scotland contacted me regarding my Orkney Selkie series of romances. It was such a pleasure to chat with BBC's Robbie Fraser about why I based my erotic romance series on the rugged isle of Orkney. The books we discussed were
Oh, wow... I don't know why, but I love the BBC... it's the accent. And last name Fraser-was he a Scot by any chance ;)? So, what was the answer-why you based it on Orkney?
Congrats!
Congrats!

Thank you Mimi, and yes, he was as Scottish as Scottish can be! LOL A lovely man.
As for the reason, I set the books in this remote area of Scotland because so much of the selkie mythology originates there. It's a big fishing community, very quaint and proud, and they love their folklore.
Personally, I think he was quite tickled that anyone would set an erotic romance on their shores! :)
My new marketing satire was just released last week! You can check it out on Goodreads, here: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18...
And it's on sale on Kindle right now for only $2.99!!! http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EPQ7Y7W
Thanks all! :-)

Oh...melting. I have a weakness for Scots.
That's interesting-and good reasoning!

Well, at least they had fun with it-and some will probably read the book and enjoy themselves.
One of our reviewers is from Forks (Twilight) and she says people come there all the time just because they're fans. So-tourism boost for them!

OMG, Forks must be sick of the Twi-hards by now! LOL Coming into their town, looking for sparkly folk!

Well, yeah. They've made the "Tourist-repellant" probably. And a sign-NO SPARKLIES. She was just frustrated they (the town) weren't taking advantage of all the people coming in.
