Pride and Prejudice- Jane Austen
The Bell Jar- Sylvia Plath
Jane Eyre- Charlotte Bronte
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn- Betty Smith
Anne of Green Gables- L.M. Montgomery, though really I love so all the Anne and Emily books.
I know there are millions more, but those are my favorites.

The Age of Innocence, Edith WhartonMy Antonia, Willa Cather
Cousin Bette, Balzac
The Optimist's Daughter, Eudora Welty
The Wicked Pavilion, Dawn Powell
Not one of my favorite novels but worth the read. It's called a Death in the Family by James Agee and its how a women copes with death and the future of her and her family.
And also the Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. I always foget the names of main characters but I couldn't put this book down. It was really well written.
Ann Veronica by HG WellsThe Rainbow by DH Lawrence
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Middlemarch by George Eliot
The first classic I thought of was Jane Eyre of course. omg, I could NOT put this book down. Jane is the most compelling heroine I have ever read about!! And then Gone with the Wind--Scarlett O'Hara is unforgettable!
anything by Kate Chopin--The Awakening and her other short stories: Story of an Hour, The Storm, Desiree's Baby...
Madame Bovary
The Scarlet Letter
