I have one or two of hers. I'll have to look and see what it is I have!

OK, I have First Days The First Days (As the World Dies, #1) by Rhiannon Frater and Blood and Love and Other Vampire Tales. Blood & Love and Other Vampire Tales by Rhiannon Frater
So not the Bride series.

Michelle (shadowrose) Sounds like a great challenge, I'll have to make sure I don't bog myself down with other books so I can join.

Rhiannon is a great horror writer, she isn't afraid to rip out the heart of her readers, lol. I have Pretty When She Dies (Pretty When She Dies, #1) by Rhiannon Frater , Pretty When She Kills (Pretty When She Dies, #2) by Rhiannon Frater and Pretty When She Destroys (Pretty When She Dies, #3) by Rhiannon Frater but I haven't read them yet. I've read her new serial though: In Darkness We Must Abide The Complete First Season by Rhiannon Frater

The Blackstone Chronicles by John Saul - It's actually a series of 6 super short books. I found it to be super creepy and I couldn't sleep for a few nights because of it.
Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake - Really creepy and detailed. I haven't read the second one though, so I'm not sure what that one is like.

Amy at bookgoonie (bookgoonie) | 36 comments The Madman's Daughter is a good YA gothic.

The Body Finder & I Hunt Killers series are seriously creepy looking they the eyes of killers.

I thought Anna Dressed in Blood was a joke of a horror novel. I went into it expecting horror, and just got a very strange, and not-for-me, romance! haha

I have both of the first books in this series and I keep putting them off! May be a good time (if I can get the niece to give me back IHK ;)

True I wasn't expecting the romance...but I was creeped out by the actual ghost parts, lol. It actually had a younger Supernatural type vibe.

Thank you! You're the first person I've found who feels the same as me about that book haha

Amy at bookgoonie (bookgoonie) | 36 comments I listened to audio & didn't near enjoy it as much as the reviews of other's. Actually, I was on the disappointed side.

Here's my October list

message 17: by Diamond (new)

Diamond (diamondnaz) So I read Pretty Dark Nothing (Pretty Dark Nothing, #1) by Heather L Reid for the Halloween horror challenge and really enjoyed it.

It's super creepy. I did not expect it to be THAT scary but, man...it was! I DEF recommend it to all of you who want a really scary book that plays like a scary movie in your head...*shudders* just thinking about it....

I think I might read a few short stories from Unnatural Creatures here and there this month

message 20: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (shadowrose) I'm a few chapters into The Waking Darkand it's really creepy. Definitely glad I saved it for October.

I just finished it and it's so good! Very creepy and disturbing. :)

message 22: by Diamond (new)

Diamond (diamondnaz) I'm trying to decide which of these to read before Halloween... Well, hopefully two of them..
Thoughts? Read any?
Delia's Shadow Delia's Shadow by Jaime Lee Moyer
Masque of the Red Death Masque of the Red Death (Masque of the Red Death, #1) by Bethany Griffin
Anna Dressed in Blood Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #1) by Michelle Hodkin

You have to read Mara Dyer it's amazing!

message 24: by Janie (new)

Janie (sjelli11) I've read all but the first and I think all of them were 5 stars from me. If I remember correctly. Anna is my fave of the 3

message 25: by Diamond (new)

Diamond (diamondnaz) @Melissa - ok!! Is it mega creepy?!

@ Sarah Jane- Really?! Holy crap! They're all that good?! So, you'd say the bottom 3 tie all 5 stars each?

If so-- I'll start with Mara Dyer and Anna Dressed in blood! Delia's shadow is a review book..so I'll read it for sure anyway

message 26: by Janie (new)

Janie (sjelli11) Apparently I'm wrong - 5 stars for masque, 4.5 for anna, and 4 for mara. But I still standby Anna being my favorite even though my ratings are different LOL

message 27: by Melissa, OCD BFF (new)

Melissa (melstephensbooks) | 405 comments Mod
I was one of those weird people that didnt like Anna. It wasn't as creepy as I thought it would be and it took me awhile to figure out the MC was a boy haha.

Mara was pretty creepy. It messes with your mind. You don't know what's real and what's not

message 28: by Diamond (new)

Diamond (diamondnaz) Ooh I love those kind of books where u don't know what's real..

message 29: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (titania86) | 2 comments I love Anna Dressed in Blood and the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. I had some issues with Masque of the Red Death, so it's my least favorite of the three.

message 30: by Angel, Bossy BFF (new)

I adore Mara - SO CREEPY and twisty. Anna wasn't for me either, but it does have a young Supernatural (the TV show) feel to it. Although I adore the show, I didn't so much the book...haha

Masque was dark and really good as well!
