I read this as a teenager and still remember the author and name of the books. There was the thrill and excitement of space travel, imagining what could be. I like science fiction, yet hesitate to reread something that gave me so much pleasure. Some things are best remembered as wonderful--one of a kind. It's rather like early love. It's best left as a memory, especially when you have the real thing.

Me too had read Foundation Trilogy as a teenager. I re-read all the saga every four or five years, and I found it wonderful as the first. Also I like very much the others 4 Foundation novels written in the Asimov last years of live.
Thanks for responding. I was pleased to read of your enthusiasm for a wonderful science fiction writer. His work was epic.
I think this one is safe to re-read. It's a classic, and you'll probably get more out of it the second round, catching important details.
I am so glad I ran across this discussion. I, too, read and loved The Foundation Trilogy when I was a teen (a long time ago) and hesitated to reread it again. I feared that I would find it juvenile, trite and out of date. Thank you, I will not hesitate any longer and I now can look forward to reading one of my favorite sci-fi books.
