As suggested, I've made a Steam group for the bookgroup, so feel free to join!

You can also find it on your Steam client by searching for 'Dragons & Jetpacks' under groups.

I've joined up, haven't played on steam for ages but do have a couple of games on there:

Football Manager (lol)
Civ 5

Im considering purchasing Magic the Gathering 2014. But we will see! Don't play the games I've got enough! :P

Just drawing attention to this for any new members with Steam =)

Good plan! I am sadly offline for a few days :)

message 5: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rachelunabridged) | 49 comments Awesome to know that we've got a Steam group! I'm building a gaming computer since my old desktop died. Hopefully I'll be able to join the Steam group soon. :D

message 6: by Linnea (new)

Linnea (robotmaria) Nice, I'll check that out. :) I play more on my PS3 than on Steam, but I do have some games there.

I have no consoles so I feel as if steam is sucking me further in... I blame steam sales! :D

message 8: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rachelunabridged) | 49 comments I think the Steam sales are enough to suck anyone in. Steam is the only place I can think of where you can buy a $60 game on sale for $5. <3

message 9: by Joey (new)

Joey (mostlyjoe) | 178 comments Excellent. I'll join!

message 10: by Mary (new)

Mary Green I have Dungeon Defenders on Steam and it is one of the best tower defense games ever

message 11: by Rinn, (Retired mod) Captain of the SSV Normandy (new)

Rinn (rinnsohma) | 3456 comments Mod
I have that game too, did you see the 2nd one is coming out?

In my opinion though, Sanctum or Orcs Must Die! win that title ;)

message 12: by Mary (new)

Mary Green I have not seen the second one

message 13: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (ringwraith10) | 60 comments Oh, I don't believe I am a member! I'll have to join. :) And yes, Dungeon Defenders is very good but I haven't played it in a while. We should play it as a group sometime.

That would be fun, although from past experience spontaneous co-op games are much easier that organised ones :P

Would y'all stop making this sound so fun? I have enough distractions when I'm supposed to be writing as it is! :P

Ahaha, yeah... same here. And so we come to Goodreads to procrastinate instead of either working or playing games. ;)

Ahaha so very true! I have neglected Steam for a bit, but I suspect it will lure me back sometime around Easter :)

message 18: by Kevin (new)

Kevin I saw some folks on Steam have Age of Empires 2 on there. Anyone fancy a game? I've always thought myself to be pretty handy at that game :)

message 19: by Freya, Dragon Rider (new)

Freya (flamecat) | 1835 comments Mod
ahaha I'm great at building up a navy, but I always get destroyed and have to hide behind an allies' walls and send my navy or from theirs :D

message 20: by Kevin (new)

Kevin I absolutely adore that game haha many hours spent on it when I was younger, mass longbowmen ftw! Ever play Age of Mythology? That blew my world. Minotaurs, Titans, God powers, amazing stuff

message 21: by Paul, A wanderer in unknown realms (new)

Paul | 3571 comments Mod
I actually still have Age of Mythology. Loved it. I have AoE 3 as an occassional distraction at the moment buy its not as good as 2 or AoM

message 22: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (ringwraith10) | 60 comments Freya wrote: "I suspect it will lure me back sometime around Easter :)"

Hmm, I have the same suspicion for some reason. ;)

I have the original Age of Mythology but I haven't played it in a long time. There's actually a tabletop game version of it, too! I played that several times at conventions (don't own my own copy... yet) and it was really fun, but I think we were playing for about 12 hours straight for just one game (they actually ended up letting us stay to finish the game even after they had officially closed the game room at 3 a.m.). Oh, the good old days when I could stay up and play games in public at all hours of the night (doesn't count when I'm at home in my pajamas on a Friday night).

I can only imagine how cool the Titans, Hydras and Nidhogg look as figurines. I must look on ebay etc. to see if I can find any, that game was probably the best I've ever played... Who wants an online game of it now? :P

message 24: by Paul, A wanderer in unknown realms (new)

Paul | 3571 comments Mod
I'm yet to go onto Steam. I've actually got the disc for it

message 25: by Kevin (new)

Kevin You'll have to come up in the world, Paul, though I don't know if the disc and the steam supported product can connect online.

message 26: by Paul, A wanderer in unknown realms (new)

Paul | 3571 comments Mod
Doubt it. I'll have to modernise to steam at some point

message 27: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (ringwraith10) | 60 comments Yeah, I haven't gotten the Steam version yet -- just the original disc version. But I intend to get the Steam version one of these days so I can actually play with people. ;)

message 28: by Joey (new)

Joey (mostlyjoe) | 178 comments Ack. Been ill all month. I'll make sure to get on soon the steam group.

message 29: by Matthew (new)

Matthew Taylor (authormatthewtaylor) Just noticed the steam group post! I'll be sure to join the group! Feel free to shoot me a friend request as well if you want to play any games! My steam name is Havelock (I have a profile picture of an adorable llama.)

Aw, hope you're feeling okay now, Joey :)

And nice to see new members of the Steam group, although I haven't logged onto Steam that much lately... D: Still need to 100% Lego The Hobbit, but even though I have absolutely everything it won't unlock...

Wow, going for 100% in a Lego game -- that takes dedication!

message 33: by Linnea (new)

I still have that to finish as well... and I just picked up an MMO I used to play years ago that's been revived, so there goes all my gaming time :P

message 35: by Karissa (new)

Karissa (marmaboy) | 1 comments Excellent! First I found a cool book club and now a Steam group! All I have on Steam is Civ 5 and Skyrim. Having to take a break from games, want to get my book collection back under control. XD

I have several of the Lego games and so far, out of all of them, I only have about 2 or 3 trophies (on PS3) for the first LEGO Harry Potter. It's hard to complete LEGO games!

message 40: by Greg (new)

Greg (senchaii) | 0 comments I just joined the Steam group although right now the only gaming I am doing is on Elder Scrolls Online now that Tamriel Unlimited is out.

I agree Kirsten! I am finding Lego Marvel hard to complete, the Harry Potters are easier though I haven't gotten every gold brick from the game

That one was a BITCH. There were 2 challenges that I just couldn't do after countless repeats so ummm... I actually downloaded a 100% save game file for the achievement. It was gonna bug me that there were just two left for the 100% otherwise :P

I have Civ 5 on Steam too. Haven't had time to play it much though, because of life and stuff. I want to get Civ: Beyond Earth because the sci-fi theme appeals to me more.
