I always enjoy Stephen king, its hard not to. From the Earth to the Moon is certainly different for the other Jules Verne books I've read though. I'm glad it wasn't very long otherwise it would have taken forever to read!
I did last year. Plan to again this year. My first year my story was done in 10 000 words though so I didn't. I figured out I needed to plan it out last year and it worked :)
That's awesome! But the thing is I'm terrible at planning and outlining stories... What did you do with your story after you finished?

But there are a lot of people who don't plan, they just write whatever comes to them. I'm still working on the one from last year, I have to completely rewrite it because I don't like the POV I used. I just re-started it because I was so sick of looking at it before lol

Hey guys! Is everyone on winter break?? And enjoying the holidays?? It's a perfect time to write :)
Yeah! So happy for this break... We have almost two full weeks off because Christmas is on a Wednesday this year... yippeeeeeeee
Not sure where to put this, so I figured I'd post it here...Groupon has an awesome deal on a writing course right now: $19 for a course that's nearly $600 normally. It's focused on writing children's (including YA) books, but some of it will apply to any genre. So, yeah, for those interested, here are the links:

My husband and I both signed up for it.
What sucks? That it's for writing children's books? I'm probably not going to write many (or possibly any) children's books. I have a few ideas for YA books, but I have a feeling they'll end up as New Adult instead.
Oh! Have you seen my post on our writing buddy thread? And did I ever send you those edits? I don't remember, so probably not... PM or email?
I saw it. The thing is I haven't been on my laptop to do my part. -_-Plus I still have to finish my entry for both the Romance writing contest and the Summer one. I plan to get on tomorrow to hopefully do all three. As for the edits I haven't received any by pm and I have to look through my email. -_- Are you entering the romance contest by the way? 0.0 And no, the price. Can't pay it.:D I can write children book if I put my mind to it.
Ah. That was my second thought. Wish I could help with that, but I'm still unemployed, so...I'm probably entering that contest. I have a story started, but I'm going to have trouble getting it down to under 2000 words. I'm at around 1500 now and nowhere near done.
I'm pretty sure I never sent the edits (and I don't mind resending if I did). Do you want them via PM or email?
I think I may have that same problem. :) I have several ideas I will be working on and so I guess I will be choosing from those later.
The biggest problem (other than keeping the word count down) is the deadline: the 14th! That's less than a week away! I have to not only finish it but also edit it. Ack!
Iesha (In east shade house at...) wrote: "I love the pressure^~^ I write better with a dead line."I generally do better with a deadline, too. Possibly the best paper I ever wrote in my school career was written the day it was due. It was a research paper (minimum 5 pages) and I didn't start the research until the day before it was due. I made an A+. (That was my first semester of college, too. I was a freshman taking a junior-level history course. The professor was surprised to find that out. ^_^ )
Thegotenza wrote: "I'm also not the best writer because I don't have the best grammar."
Grammar's something you can improve with practice, though, so just keep at it.
Wow really. You suck. My papers for college so far falls around C`s. How do you do it? 0.0~Always looking to improve myself
Oh, trust me, I rarely get grades that high. Most of the time I get high C's to high B's on papers and such. Although, in the last English class I took (5 or so years ago), I failed the first paper. That course was my favorite class that semester (scratch that, the three years I was at NC State). "The American West" was the course title. I love wild west stuff, always have, probably because I grew up watching western movies and TV shows with my father. I wrote that paper on female outlaws of the American west. I spent all of Monday from the time I got out of my last class around noon until I went to bed at 2ish the next morning in the library doing research, taking short breaks for meals. Then I slept for four-ish hours, went to my 8 am class, then went back to my dorm room to write the paper. I was so proud of it, and absolutely ecstatic when I got it back with that grade! I still have it somewhere. (I took that class in Fall 1998, so that was a bit ago.)
Thegotenza wrote: "I'm like a toddler compared to you"Yeah, well... I often feel old on this site (in some groups more than others). 34 is not old. Not remotely. ^_^
Thegotenza wrote: "Well your 5 years away from being 3 times my age..."Wow. O.O I thought you were older than that...
Hey look I accidentally offended you, I am so sorry. I wasn't calling you old... Well I was but I meant compared to me.....
