Maddy Sloma (Wierenga) Nicole stood off to the side of all the mundanes milling around, trying to find their way about. Strands of her white hair blew into her face, which she brushed out of the way annoyingly. She pulled her jacket tighter around her, feeling a slight breeze cut through her clothes. But that was not the least of her worries, just a mere discomfort. Right now, she was just avoiding the institute, well, the people who lived there. It has been almost a year since she transferred, and she could ensure, that it wouldnt last much longer-it never did.

cecilia Quinn, who had long since stopped trying to keep the hair out of her face--even if she could have used magic if she tried hard enough--waited impatiently for the subway. Sure, she could have shifted and run, but Quinn liked doing mundane things sometimes. They were interesting people; constantly calling reality impossible. It amused her to no end.

Maddy Sloma (Wierenga) Nicole, even though she wasnt in gear, kept her basic weapons on her. Feeling through the rough fabric of her dark jacket, she counted four knives, plus the one stuck in her boot. She wasnt stupid enough to go around town weaponless. People walked by her, not glancing her way as if she were using a glamour-which she wasnt. Occasionally, people would bump into her or accidently step on her foot. Eventually, she got annoyed with this and brushed past the people to wait for a subway. One thing was for sure, Nicole wasnt a city person. All the people around, cars, the closeness of all the building, even the ways of transportation was unlike what she was used to.

message 8: by cecilia (new)

cecilia Quinn was already bored, and she'd only been waiting a few moments. How did mundanes stand this sort of thing? Quinn had already lost her patience, her short attention span fading. So, without thinking twice, she shifted into her beautiful red wolf and started weaving her way between people, none of whom noticed her. It was almost laughable, actually.

message 9: by Maddy (new)

Maddy Sloma (Wierenga) Nicole tried weaving her way through the crowd of people--keeping her head tilted slightly down to ensure that she wouldnt stumble--who were anxious to board the sub that had just pulled in. Bright movement caught her eye, and as she turned her head slightly, a wolf brushed past a few mundanes next to her. In fact, she had almost run into the red wolf herself, though, none of the mundanes would notice. A small grin made her lips twitch as if she were going to smile. The things they missed, if they would only open their eyes.

message 10: by cecilia (new)

cecilia Of course the train rolled in now. Geez, public transportation was infernal, always late. So instead of bothering to shift back, Quinn nimbly weaves her way through a large crowd of boarding mundanes, not even blinking as she passed an albino nephilim. The blades were obvious, but wolves were colorblind. It wasn't something Quinn cared much about.

message 11: by Maddy (new)

Maddy Sloma (Wierenga) Nicole stumbled back slightly as the red wolf ran past her, feeling the fur brush slightly against her jeans. Her bangs dripped down into her eyes, it was getting long again. Feeling a familiar buzz in her pocket, she jerked her head up. Her Sensor. Demon activity has been low for a while, which was never a good thing. So swiftly, Nicole made her way to the back of the crowd

message 12: by cecilia (new)

cecilia Quinn's ears perked up when she heard a buzzing, her lips pulling back in a slight snarl. Sounded like a sensor. Did she really care? No. Did she want that obnoxious noise to stop? Yes. Buzzing was one of the many things that annoyed her to no end, so Quinn's head swiveled in the direction of the noise. The nephilim, as usual, always ruining calm moments.

message 13: by Maddy (new)

Maddy Sloma (Wierenga) Easily making her way around the people, Nicole found herself emerging on the other side of the large area. Through of all this, the soft buzzing of her Sensor never stopped. Using a quick glamor to conceal the blade, and what might be soon to happen, from the eyes of innocent mundanes. For all they knew, she had vanished, gotten onboard the arriving subway train. Pulling out one of the daggers concealed within her jacket, she silently made her way to the exit.

message 14: by cecilia (new)

cecilia Quinn, with what seemed to be a sigh, trailed after the Nephilim silently. They could never do their job right, it seemed; she might as well follow and make sure everything was taken care of. Easily weaving her way between the oblivious mundanes, Quinn pulled her lips back in a slight snarl. The buzz of the sensor was driving her absolutely insane, and it just wouldn't stop. Figures.

Maddy Sloma (Wierenga) Glancing around, making sure she wasn't just walking by the demon, Nicole felt as if she were being followed. Was the demon luring her into a trap? But that thought was easily dismissed when her gaze passed swiftly over the red wolf. Turning her attention from the wolf, she persisted onward. As long as the wolf wasnt getting in her way, or breaking the law, it wasn't her concern. Blade in hand, she moved toward the figure she had spotted toward the mouth of the tunnels. By now, her sensor was going crazy.

E M M A Nathalie: With a panicked expression, I had run with my heels in my hand, my crossbody purse with the gold chain strapped across my chest. With a wild look, I had desperately tried to explain what had just happened to me. People would only gie me skeptical looks, one even offered to bring me to a hospital. In the dingy subway I had always avoided because it was for the poor people, I ducked into an archway, taking deep sobbing breaths. I was such a mess, and my pink dress had dirt smudges on it. I couldn't be seen like this. How was I supposed to get home?

message 17: by cecilia (new)

cecilia Quinn was rather tired of all these nephilim. They were quite bothersome, actually. She felt none of the uneasy alliance between the two species; Quinn, like most warlocks, had a dislike for the Angel's children. It was only natural, warlocks were half demon after all. But demons were demons. They were fair game on fair ground, in Quinn's mind.

Maddy Sloma (Wierenga) Nicole slipped into the mouth of one of the tunnels, and instantly, it had gotten darker. She had put away her sensor, sticking it deep within her pocket. A blade in her hand, she walked silently through the tunnel. Without realizing it, not one, but two demons slithered out, one in front of her and one behind. Drawing another blade so she had one in each hand, she had just enough time to raise it as the first demon lunged at her. Ducking and rolling out of the way, the demon flew past her. Now she could fight them at a better angle, not having one to her back. They were both in front of her now.
