home from work. In early tomorrow. I wish I had energy to stay up and read!

I have decided not to reserve or borrow books from the library because I think I should read them. I am going to go on my instincts and from now on read what I want to read or what I am in the mood to read. But I've said that before and I'll probably do the same thing in the future. I have a ton of very new books here and I read the first pages to see what would click and guess what I am reading a book from my I PAD - Necessary Lies by Diane Chamberlain, an author I have loved in the past and listening to 44 Charles Street by Danielle Steel one of those authors I continue to read cause her books are fast and comforting reads or at least to me.

going to watch my Golden Girls then get some sleep :)

there are 100 days left in the year. whatever your new years resolutions were .. if they got lost in the shuffle of daily life, there's still time to achieve some of those resolutions.

I finished 44 Charles Street and while this was a really predictable book, I did enjoy it and gave it a B rating.

I am now listening to The Poisonwood Bible which I never was able to read. Sometimes listening to an audio starts me off and then I switch to the book venue. I continue to read Necessary Lies and after 75 pages I'm not real sure if I like this book. Par of the plot is rather grim sooooooooo

I was just reading some articles online and saw this;

I didn't know this. Charles Dickens had a pet Raven, which is what inspired Edgar Allen Poe's great poem.

Just finished Necessary Lies by Diane Chamberlain and while I wasn't that thrilled with the beginning and this was a grim topic, it was a very wrothwhile read. The end was a bit like a Hallmark mvoie but still I gave this a 5 star rating.

had anyone have the time to read all this? I started to, and I have to say, I am a little concernt. Don't get me wrong, I am against harresment and discrimination and bullying by all means. But I do think I need to be allowed to voice my honest opinion..I know, the tone makes the melody, and all. But to be denied to write my opinion in general? Im not to sure about that.

What do you guys think? Did you have time to think about it?

Ah, yes--"fall back" in the fall and "spring forward" in the spring (the only way I can remember lol).

yeah that's the only way I remember too Julia. today in the car for a second I thought I was late to a bday party. but then I remembered!

but November will be a dark month for us. will be just kind of blahhhh. :s

Ah, we have to learn to love the dark and cold here in Michigan or we'd need those sun lamps all winter! I love making snow angels, and found this great picture of "leaf" angels :-) Think I'll try one today lol.

so what's everyone doing for Thanksgiving?!

We went out of town to visit my family, a nice trip albeit too short.

oh well that is nice to see family. did you and your family make any favorite family dishes?

This year we ordered our meal from the grocery store to save time for everyone :) How about you?

We made some dishes like stuffing, Turkey and sweet potatoes and my parents brought some food including a delicious baked ziti.

we had it done once at a supermarket and it was delicious too.

We've done Thanksgiving at restaurants twice, I much prefer it at a family home. :)

so what is everyone doing for Christmas and/or New Year's?

We go eat Chinese and watch a movie on Christmas day (as we don't celebrate) and New Year's Eve I make a nice meal at home. :)

yeah definitely. we are still having the traditional meals but we always do some little specialty dishes

So I bought 2 of my daughters the Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas. I have one and love it! I still like to read books too, but for really large books like The Song of Fire and Ice it is so nice!

Do we have many kindle/Nook people here??

what awesome gifts! I have the kindle and nook apps on my smart phone and I love it.

I had the nook and kindle. I preferred the nook itself, but
I find that kindle has better deals on the books.

I also have both the Kindle (Fire) and Nook. I prefer my Nook for outdoor reading for their e-ink.

I got a Kerig for Christmas! Awesome....I love drinking coffee and sitting down with a good book. My brother in law's girlfriend got a signed copy of The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Gaiman. She was very excited!

My daughter and I just gave each other Christmas gifts of The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt :-) She and I are on the same wave length for so many things, but this made us chuckle.

Yes, we hugged and laughed a lot; now we've made it into a verb, since this happens to us often. So if we get each other the same thing from now on, we've "goldfinched" each other lol.

is anyone celebrating Passover or Easter? what plans do you have?

We celebrated Pesach (Passover) this evening with family, a day early, since we're so busy with work and me in school. We walked away exceptionally full with more fond memories.
