Diana wrote: "I love any and all western Romance books...hell I love any and all romance books period......"I like your attitude, Diana! :-)
I enjoy Texas settings since I live here now. I also enjoy Historical Westerns about how the west was formed
My favorite westerns are erotic and contemporary. I love it when the story lets the reader follow the characters as they travel between small towns and large cities.

Nope Angi...that about says it all for me...I'm a romantic at heart.... I only hate when you find out in a sequel one of the couples you love died....that sucks...I like happy endings....ignorance is bliss in that respect....

I love small town/ranch stories, especially when there is some historical detail about the area (Colorado, Montana, Wyoming...) and that is whether it is a historical western romance or a contemporary.

Since I write small towns, I like reading them. I've lived in the big city and I've lived in small towns. I prefer to the small town where everyone knows your name and if you need help, someone is there for you. That aspect is really important to me in a western. That's not to say I don't love a really well written big city western.

Texas is a beautiful state and so full of history. I drove across it for one of our family vacations and made several touristy stops along the way. As to Historical romances, love them! I hated history class in school but once I started reading Historicals the time period came alive for me and now I wish I had a love of history earlier in life. It would have saved me a lot of grief.

My upcoming American Romance is Mistletoe Rodeo (October) - It is book 6 in the Welcome to Ramblewood series, but you don't have to read the first 5 in order to enjoy this one (but I won't mind if you!)From the back cover:
A CHRISTMAS AS BIG AS TEXAS!
His entire town was counting on Chase Langtry to bring home the championship title. Instead, the injured bull rider is slinking back to the family ranch. But how can he stay out of the spotlight with relentless reporter Nola West following him home from Vegas? His humiliating loss isn't going to be her next story—despite Chase's Texas-size crush on the unattainable beauty.
Nola's attraction to the youngest son of Ramblewood's First Family is shaking her hard-won confidence. And it looks like the only scoop she'll get is covering the Mistletoe Rodeo charity event. She's never been a big fan of the holiday. Until Chase vows to show her a Christmas she'll never forget… But will a nasty scandal and the secret Nola's keeping ruin everything?

I write for Desire so I get to write sexy cowboys and I love the Barron brothers in my Red Dirt Royalty series. Chance, Cord, Clay, Chase, Cash, and Kaden have no idea what hits them when they meet the cowgirls destined to tame their wild ways. The first two books are out, and hopefully the next two will be out next year. I need to write faster. LOL
My favorite setting is definitely a small town ranching community. I've been setting my books in the same fictional Texas town, Serendipity, for quite some time now and just contracted for six more.
I like learning a bit as I read--about horses, the people in a small town and all their irritating and lovable idiosyncrasies and quirks, about the history of the town. I write historical westerns, but actually love to read both historical and contemporary -- but always the small town, country settings.

My favorite westerns are historicals. I love stories set in the Montana and Wyoming region. The landscape is so beautiful and I just love when an author can make me see it.

If you're friends with me on Facebook, you see the pictures of my Texas travels. I write about actual locations...which always require a road trip. Fortunately, my husband spoils me that way. We load up the dogs and just take off. Our last adventure was three days to and from Dalhart, Texas.
HI all, I'm back! Sorry I had to skip out--neighbors with chain saws showed up and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to have someone else cut the huge tree down in my back yard.Anyway! My upcoming Harlequin Desires are 'city-westerns'--it's the continuation of the Beaumont Heirs series, set in modern-day Denver. There are horses, but not so much wide open spaces.
In Sept. there's His Son, Her Secret--a reunited lovers (with a bonus surprise baby!) featuring Byron Beaumont. And in Oct. is Falling for Her Fake Fiance, staring Byron's twin sister, Frances. His Son, Her Secret just got 4 lovely stars from RT yesterday!
I'm actually about to start on (yet another) Beaumont Heir book that will be out for Dec. 2016--featuring a rancher who is an illigitimate half-brother of Byron and Frances and he's a dyed-in-the-wool cowboy. Plus, he'll have a Christmas Blizzard! :)

My September Superromance, SAFE IN NOAH'S ARMS, is set outside of my fictional small town of Accord in Colorado, but the hero is not a rancher. He's an organic farmer, which is kind of odd for a hero. The heroine is sent to his farm to perform community service, but has never even owned a houseplant let alone farmed. She likes designer clothes and shoes. She grew up in a small-town, but has a very urban attitude. It's very much a case of opposites attracting, which is one of my favorite themes. It's also a bit of a friends-to-lovers story because he's had a crush on her since high school, but she never knew it. It was fun to bring her around to liking living on the farm!
My August book is a Love Inspired contemporary called The Cowboy's Surprise Baby. It's the third in my Cowboy Country series. I've just contracted for six more in the series. They are all Cowboy/Baby books (and Harlequin is making the cutest covers!)From the back cover:
HOMETOWN REUNION
After years away serving his country, Cole Bishop finally returns home--with a newborn baby in tow. As a single dad, Cole needs help. But the last thing he expects to encounter at his new job is his high school sweetheart--all grown up and more beautiful than ever. Tessa Applewhite might have broken Cole's heart years before, but she's never forgotten him. And he can wrangle her heart like no one else ever has. But Tessa rejected him when the stakes weren't nearly as high. Can Cole trust her again--and in the process, form a forever family?

Diana wrote: "Amanda wrote: "I like when places and characters are connected but LOVE that yours stand alone as well "I do too :) I don't want a reader to feel compelled to buy every book in the series, although it's always nice when they do. I love reading reunion or second chance type stories like this! And it certainly doesn't hurt that the hero's name is Cole. That's what I named my son...strong and manly...

That sounds like so much fun! My husband and I don't travel so well together. It may have something to do with the time he asked me to check the map because our exit was about to come up and I promptly lost the map out the window when the wind suction just took it right out of my hands. I told him him that yes, I believe the next exit is the one we are supposed to take but it is up to you after that which way we go.
