You're listening to your radio when a voice interrupts the program, saying:

“We interrupt this broadcast so that the Minister for Magic can deliver a message.”

Turning up the volume somewhat, you stop what you were doing and listen intently.

“Today is a very special day: it's May the second of two thousand seventeen; the anniversary of the end of the Second Wizarding War.
“Unfortunately, a terrible thing that has happened: Harry James Potter, the Boy Who Lived, died last night. It is not known for sure how it happened, but both I and the Ministry plead that all of you will exercise caution. If it was a murder—which is what the evidence leans toward, he was in apparently perfect health—then it would be best to be on one's guard.
“I also have the other grave news to deliver: Ginevra Molly Potter, Ronald Bilius Weasley, Hermione Jean Weasley, Neville Longbottom, Hannah Longbottom, Rolf Scamander, Luna Scamander, Draco Lucius Malfoy, and Astoria Malfoy have all been reported missing. Though, their children and other members of their families, thankfully, are all accounted for and are still safe.
“There have been no others reported missing or dead. Again, the Ministry strongly advises extreme caution.
“Thank you for listening.”

The radio returns to the song you had been listening to. At this disheartening news, you go to check the window—a natural thing to do. There's nothing out there, nothing you can see; no hint of a storm (which is how it started the last two times), or anything else outside of what's normal. You figure it's fairly safe, and start frantically on letters to your friends and family, asking if they're all right, and if they'd heard what was on the radio. A little while later, there was a tapping noise on the window, which turned out to be a Ministry owl, carrying an official letter that had the exact wording of the message you had heard a few minutes ago.
The message was played on every station (well, all of those that witches and wizards listen to—if this got to the Muggles, it would be disastrous), and there were owls delivered to every wizarding household, just in case.
At Hogwarts, it was decided that the children could finish their education for that year. Of course, the parents who wanted to have their children come back and stay at home would have the power to take their children out of the school—but there weren't that many parents who would do that.
Speaking of Hogwarts, the children of those missing or dead will be attending Hogwarts too. No one knows it yet, but those children will be the people to discover—and help defeat—who it was that kidnapped those missing, and apparently killed Harry Potter.
As it would turn out, it wasn't Death Eaters this time—well, some were involved, but they weren't the people to start it—rather, there is another threat: a group of wizards and witches who call themselves “The Order of the Order.” It seems that they think that only they can bring order to the wizarding world—well, their type of “order”: they want to enslave everyone and everything, save for wizardkind, with the latter at the top. So, same ideas, different name.
Nearing the very end of the school year, the aforementioned group of students will discover a long passage filled with obstacles and traps leading to the headquarters of The Order of the Order (a mountain troll, a Hungarian Horntail dragon, an underground lake filled with grindylows and Inferi, a dementor, and finally a boggart) find their parents, free them, and together, the parents and their children will defeat The Order of the Order.
There will be a twist, too: Harry Potter will be alive, and it will be discovered that through some kind of unconfirmed magic (suspected to be a form of transfiguration), there was a double of Harry Potter—not made through someone using Polyjuice Potion, though, that's sure.
The families will return to the school, perhaps with a few ugly bruises, scrapes, and scratches, but otherwise alive and well. The news will be delivered by owl to the Ministry, and the Aurors and others will take care of the rest, while the families will have some time to spend together and recuperate.

Roles:
James Sirius Potter – second/third year (unknown which—perhaps fourth year, even?)
Albus Severus Potter – first year
Rose “Rosie” Weasley – first year
Lorcan Scamander – second year
Lysander Scamander – second year
Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy – first year
Canon Potter(s)
Canon Weasley(s)
Canon Longbottom(s) – Augusta Hannah “Gusty” Longbottom—third year
Canon Scamander(s) – first year
Canon Malfoy(s)

My Form:
Name: Augusta Hannah “Gusty” Longbottom
Nickname: She goes by Gusty.
Age: At the moment, she is thirteen years old.
Year: She's in her third year at Hogwarts.
Birthday: It is July 17th.
Gender: Gusty is female.
Nationality: Gusty is British.
Wand: Gusty's wand is twelve inches, made from English oak, it has a unicorn hair core, and it's fairly unyielding—but, if one perseveres through slowly bending harder, it will relent and curve.
House: Gusty is in Hufflepuff House. As her father, but for a different reason, she was nearly a hatstall between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor.
Broomstick (second year and up): She prefers staying on the ground.
Quidditch: See above.
Pet: A small, male black cat named Night Dance, who has the nickname Dancer.
Blood Status: Gusty is a half-blood.
Immediate Family: Her parents are Professor Neville Longbottom and Hannah Longbottom (née Abbott), along with any other potential siblings that are in this role-play.
Appearance: Gusty has somewhat tanned skin due to her being outside so often, and course blond hair that goes to her hips when down—but it's usually done up somehow: braided; in a pony-tail; anything, really. A favorite style of hers is a braid that has been wrapped around the top of her head, resulting in it looking something like a crown or a thick circlet. Another is a style greatly resembling the blond witch in blue (first zoom) in the “Lucius Malfoy” scene in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on Pottermore, except Gusty's hair is longer and not curly at the ends. Her eyes are a soft, dark chocolate brown and often show how she feels. She still has some baby fat clinging on—in this way she looks about as her father did at her age, somewhat thinner. Gusty has strong, somewhat calloused hands—still, her hands are gentle, and can handle even the most fragile blooms.
Personality: Gusty is prone to mumbling around those she doesn't know well; one of the reasons she can be quite shy. Her self-esteem can dip quite low, but with enough comfort and encouragement, she will become convinced that she is a worthwhile person. She will cry easily, and burst into tears if she is frustrated or sad enough. She'll go pink if embarrassed, which can happen often. If one has been able to befriend her, Gusty will become much more easy-going, more prone to laugh, and more open to sharing her thoughts and feelings. Gusty is fiercely loyal to friends and family, fears losing loved ones, and would be willing to risk and/or give her life for someone who is innocent—even someone who isn't, if she feels s/he deserves a second chance. She will stand up to bullies, but she is often the new target and comes out of the encounter feeling depressed. Gusty is not one to turn away from “gross” things, and will often get closer to study something—especially if said thing is a plant.
Mirror of Erised: Being with her family and friends, everyone healthy and happy and whole. Gusty is grown and standing with her hand in a handsome man's, though she cannot make out exactly what he looks like. There are children resembling herself somewhat in front of the pair, though she can make out neither exactly what they look like, as with the man, nor exactly how many there are. All of this is before her parents are captured; afterwards, it becomes everything having been set right, all of her own wishes—aside from being with her parents again—cast aside.
Patronus: It's a Dwarf Brocket doe.
Boggart: The deaths and pain of loved ones, then the deaths and pain of any people.
Hobbies: Gusty likes to read, and quite likes to study wand-lore. She loves gardening, and will spend much of her free time helping her Herbology Professor (her father) in the greenhouses (at least before he's captured), and will go to Hagrid's to help him there—with gardening and magical creatures—this will become one of her only ways to find solace after her parents are captured. When she's at home she'll go around exploring.
Favorite Subject: Herbology, though she quite likes Defense Against the Dark Arts and also Care of Magical Creatures.
Other: She hopes to apprentice under Garrick Ollivander and be a wand-maker someday, if she can't do something involving plants (she also knows she will probably inherit the inn her parents own, the Leaky Cauldron). She will, if nothing else, have a family and take care of it—this is above anything else she wants to do. She has vowed never to cut her hair, and she is left-handed.

Notes:
To clear up any potential confusion, the year starts off normally somewhat like in the epilogue of the last book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and in May the “death” of Harry Potter is announced. So, yes, most of the year is going to be without much plot, but that's how it is with most role-plays, I think. The children don't start their quest to find their parents until they finish exams, then they find their parents, the parents stay to be with their children and be cared for by Madam Pomfrey, and ride the Hogwarts Express home with everyone else. (Hugo and Lily will be staying with Arthur and Molly Weasley until the others find their parents, then they'll briefly get to go to Hogwarts—arriving via Floo Powder—while their parents recover with their families.)
If a canon spot is not taken, that character does not exist. If a series child is not taken, that character is background, but does participate a little during the main battle after the obstacles (perhaps, on occasion, saving a protagonist, fending off an antagonist, etc.). You may have a non-canon or actual character, but s/he will most certainly be background (this is to appease the moderators).
In order to get Luna's kids into the role-play, I needed to disregard that Luna's marriage was much later than her friends'. I'm just going to say that Luna married Rolf Scamander, had Lorcan and Lysander ten months later, and then after another ten months had the canons—who will be starting their first years—if people so choose to play them.
Another thing: as Minerva McGonagall's successor as headmaster is unknown, I've made up someone. He's named Fredric Aurthur Partinggale, a half-blood (pure-blood Squib mother, Muggle-born wizard father). He's pretty calm, firm, and quite serious. He also is fairly old (by Muggle standards, anyway), about one hundred, he has a look fairly similar to Albus Dumbledore when he met Tom Riddle (in the films), except with a longer beard, dark gray hair with lighter gray mixed in, and intense, dark brown eyes—he's also shorter than Dumbledore.
As for the amount of characters you may have, you may have up to two. Please note that a person may only have one series character (if they are any left), due to the lack of them in this role-play (this includes Lily and Hugo—if you have only one character—a canon, obviously—you may play the somewhat minor role of either of Lily or Hugo when it comes time).
The leader of The Order of the Order is named Garrett Prince; his second-in-command is Nathaniel Slurr, who is a distant cousin of Dolores Umbridge and a half-blood, though he doesn't parade either of the last two.

We can start at King's Cross station (just before they get on platform Nine and Three Quarters) when we have five characters (preferably canons) from the five different families—and yes, you do need a form for series characters. ;)
