Luke (korrick) | 2004 comments Welcome, Leajk! Both I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and The Summer Book are 500 GBBW, so I hope you enjoy/enjoyed them.

Leajk Great Aubrey! I really enjoyed The Summer Book, even more than I thought I would. And I'm looking forward to I Know Where The Caged Bird Sings after reading The Color Purple and Their Eyes Were Wathcing God recently, I'm hoping that it is in the same vein.

And thank you Dustin!

Leajk Since I'm really bad at sticking to plans, I've now added and read Wide Saragasso Sea. Review coming soon. Also thinking of reading Ursula K Le Guin although she doesn't fit with any of my themes I've been trying to read.

Luke (korrick) | 2004 comments Le Guin's awesome enough to survive without themes.

Dustin | 84 comments Le Guin IS awesome! I haven't read her in years..

message 9: by Leajk (new)

Leajk Haha, great! Then I feel good about bringing her along on the vacation :)

Bjorn | 32 comments Beckomberga is so good. I really don't get why no one's translated Stridsberg into English yet...

message 11: by Leajk (new)

Leajk Ah, Beckomberga is my one 'required reading' book on the list, but I haven't read any Stridsberg yet so I'm hoping I'll find her as good as everyone else!

Leajk Finished Song of Be, time to get started on those I actually planned!

Leajk Finished The Pillow Book and Beckomberga, reviews coming soon!
