I'm ordering Liber ABA as well. More like a reference volume. The amount of information in there can be a bit intimidating. I could only digest this in small servings...

I don't have my copy with me (left it at uni for the next academic year). Any chapter in particular?
I'm on board! I was making progress on it but I think having others to talk about it with will help the information stick.
That's what helped me. I went to my best bud about certain pages and he clarified the basics and then I was on a roll.
Wooo! I'm excited! I actually can't wait to update y'all when I get this book, now that I got homies to talk to it about it'll be easier to get through/understand.
I'm ready to start this. :D@arturo If you haven't got yours yet, I'll read Siddhartha in the meantime haha.
@dale I'm excited as well, this is gonna be epic.
@sy I won't have many questions until I dive into this massive book, but I'll appreciate any info that you can spare to illuminate some of the more confusing (or even basic stuff) we'll be dealing with.
@arturo No worries, reading Siddhartha right after the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying is actually fitting.
has anybody thought of a better way to communicate with each other? or are we sticking with goodreads?
Goodreads is my method so far as I have the app on my iPhone.
Make new friends guys!! That's what social networking is about :D

Crowley seems to imply that Part 2 requires a little familiarity with the subject. Does anyone recommend any books that would aid in the understanding of the ceremonial magick section? Or is it perhaps unnecessary? And has anyone tried any of the positions suggested for asana meditation? @arturo I won't get too far ahead of you, I promise ha, I still have other reading to do in between when you receive your book and catch up haha.
@Chris Check out Oliver St. John's foundation volumes on Hermetic Qabalah. Perhaps Donald Michael Kraig's "Modern Magick" and Rodney Orpheus' "Abrahadabra!". Still waiting here. Thanks for your patience.
Thank you for the recommendations! They'll have to be on my next amazon splurge. Haha. I just ordered Gareth Knight's A Practical Guide to Qabalistic Symbolism, Robert Wang's The Qabalistic Tarot, and a Thoth Tarot deck with Understanding Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot haha, I have my work cut out for me.
@Chris Funny coincidence: I also ordered that Gareth Knight book and the ones about the Thoth Tarot :-) They're all part of the shipment I'm waiting for.
@arturo How far are you? I'm about to start part 3 after I'm done with Dante. Part 1 was easy enough, but part 2 was a little more challenging, I'll have to reread it and maybe other books on the topic.
Anyone else's Hardcover Liber ABA cut off on page 489 in appendix II one star in sight while explaining the grade "adeptus exemptus" on the bottom of the page? Mine cuts off at "It then finds itself a..."
Shady editors haha. I'll be rereading the book anyway, this whole thing is extremely intimidating. Ugh. Haha.
I just got to Part 3, overall the book is packed with information! I loved Part 2, I really want to go back and study it in depth.
Part 3 is amazing! I don't have my copy with me :( part 4 and 3 have some pretty cool reading lists too.
This is a book I'll have to go back through, so many things to get in depth. I'm excited to put all this to the test. I'm just getting in to the magical memory part. This book is a masterpiece.

I tease myself with visions of weekly hangouts where r/t discussion happens...a virtual pilpul. Can it be?
So far goodreads is the best site I've found for this purpose. Idk where else to find people reading these books we read haha.
